WEEK 1

WEEK 1

[Awaken.

Fifteen strangers have been gathered to the Depths.

When the strangers awaken, they will feel nauseous in their stomachs. No doubt confused. Maybe a little sick, Perhaps, even terrified. And certainly, there is a good reason for it - they are not where they were before. If they had powers back where they came from, they seem to be all gone. And it appears that someone has left...guidelines for them. All of them addressed to a specific Title.

Their Title. Somehow, each person knows, upon seeing this, this is their Title, even if it seems to make no sense whatsoever. And its clear that whoever wrote these things knew it as well. Who was it?

Its uncertain. So far, there seems to be no one else save for them, and those who dare to venture out of their rooms - save, for some reason, the individuals in rooms 1, 8 and 7 - in this hot and stuffy place. No...'intercessor' to be seen yet, certainly. No outward signs that there's anyone else aside from the people with 'Titles'.

So, Titled: welcome.

There are fifteen strangers in this place.]
zephyranthe: (Got it.)

Hmm. I wouldn't mind seeing one about cats, too.

[Considering that Celine practically lived with them in their dorm and all. Still, that explains why there was that other letter.]

Yeah, but I couldn't read it at all. You wanted to tell us something?
carries_war: (Rubedo-You mean it?)

[personal profile] carries_war 2017-05-19 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
Try reading it now.

[He hands her a copy of the letter, which is in the exact same language as the book. It reads:

'Please come see me in the dining room, there's something important I want to talk to everyone about.

- #666 Rubedo'
]
zephyranthe: (Oh?)

[personal profile] zephyranthe 2017-05-19 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
[She'll read it out loud, minus the crossed out portion, so he can confirm it.]

...This is pretty weird.

[She's not usually responsible for figuring out these kinds of things so there's not much she can offer in terms of theories. But there's still something that bugs her a little.]

We could talk to each other just fine, though. [It's possible to be illiterate, yeah, but if they were speaking different languages to begin with...]
carries_war: (Rubedo-You mean it?)

[personal profile] carries_war 2017-05-19 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, and the Intercessor seemed really surprised when I told them I couldn't read most of the books on the shelf. I didn't tell them I could read more every time I looked...
zephyranthe: (Got it.)

[personal profile] zephyranthe 2017-05-20 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
Didn't seem like they were told much about this to begin with. Probably no point in telling him much in case we try to go the interrogation route.
carries_war: (Rubedo-You mean it?)

[personal profile] carries_war 2017-05-20 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
I already asked them a lot of stuff. They...didn't think there would be humans here. Or anyone descended from humans, either.

zephyranthe: (Looks like something's there.)

[personal profile] zephyranthe 2017-05-20 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
[Well that's definitely pretty high up on the weird meter.]

What'd he think we were, then? Monsters?
carries_war: (Rubedo-You mean it?)

[personal profile] carries_war 2017-05-20 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
Another race from this world. I don't think they know much about them...they said they'd never met one.
zephyranthe: (Got it.)

[personal profile] zephyranthe 2017-05-20 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
Kinda a weird assumption to make if you don't even know what that race is like in the first place.
carries_war: (Rubedo-You mean it?)

[personal profile] carries_war 2017-05-20 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
It's what they were told. They seemed really mad when they found out a lot of their information was wrong.
zephyranthe: (Doesn't look too interesting from here.)

[personal profile] zephyranthe 2017-05-20 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
[Well, it's not like employers were obligated to tell the whole truth, but outright lying like that... seemed like a good way to make it harder to trust them, in addition to potentially making the job more difficult. Still, it's nice to know that the Intercessor isn't happy about this...]

Wonder if they'd be willing to do us some more favors 'cause of this.
carries_war: (Rubedo-You mean it?)

[personal profile] carries_war 2017-05-20 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe, but I'm not sure how much they can do. They said they had to do this job, or the people in charge were going to dispose of them.
zephyranthe: (Got it.)

[personal profile] zephyranthe 2017-05-20 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh. Well that puts things in a different light.]

Sounds like a pretty good incentive, then. Guess I'll just take what I can.
carries_war: (Rubedo-You mean it?)

[personal profile] carries_war 2017-05-20 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
They're pretty willing to talk, so we can probably ask them if we have any questions we don't mind them knowing about.
zephyranthe: (*yawn*)

[personal profile] zephyranthe 2017-05-21 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
[But that would require thinking up meaningful questions to ask!]

I'd rather get stuff out of it. [Like explosives. But water would be good too.]
carries_war: (Rubedo-You mean it?)

[personal profile] carries_war 2017-05-21 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
They let me borrow some books, and they're where I got the paper I used to make these notes.
zephyranthe: (Got it.)

[personal profile] zephyranthe 2017-05-21 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
[Those are all rather small things to her, but it's better than nothing... probably.

But... hm.]

I wonder if they can read these notes too.
carries_war: (Rubedo-You mean it?)

[personal profile] carries_war 2017-05-21 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I think they can read anything here. They were surprised when I said I couldn't read most of the languages their books were in.
zephyranthe: (Mmm whatever.)

[personal profile] zephyranthe 2017-05-22 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe we need a code or something.

[Even if the Intercessor isn't necessarily happy with what's going on, she's still not sure if they can be trusted, and it wouldn't be good if any sensitive messages could be intercepted.]
