WEEK 1

[Awaken.

Fifteen strangers have been gathered to the Depths.

When the strangers awaken, they will feel nauseous in their stomachs. No doubt confused. Maybe a little sick, Perhaps, even terrified. And certainly, there is a good reason for it - they are not where they were before. If they had powers back where they came from, they seem to be all gone. And it appears that someone has left...guidelines for them. All of them addressed to a specific Title.

Their Title. Somehow, each person knows, upon seeing this, this is their Title, even if it seems to make no sense whatsoever. And its clear that whoever wrote these things knew it as well. Who was it?

Its uncertain. So far, there seems to be no one else save for them, and those who dare to venture out of their rooms - save, for some reason, the individuals in rooms 1, 8 and 7 - in this hot and stuffy place. No...'intercessor' to be seen yet, certainly. No outward signs that there's anyone else aside from the people with 'Titles'.


So, Titled: welcome.

"Me too. The less time spent here, the better." He huffed, seeming to look around their surroundings and then back toward the taller teen. If the height difference seemed to bother him any, he wasn't at all showing it.

Though he thought back to what he'd said before and those were some pretty intellectual words from a guy who looked like that. Was that common or just a tough face he put up? "Did you read that weird letter that was in the room with you when you woke up? I know I couldn't have been the only person to get one of those."

Yusuke frowns at the mention of the letter. "Indeed, I did. I found most of the contents to be quite disturbing, particularly Order Seven."

Murder. How could anyone expect them to willingly commit murder of their fellow captives? Are any of them truly that depraved or desperate?

"If our captors had a way to place us here, then there is certainly a way out without a need for slaughter."

There was a bit of a pause that followed, raising an eyebrow briefly when Yusuke had called Order Seven 'disturbing'. Something which didn't even seem to really get much of a reaction out of him other than a rather calm shrug, wondering just how the other would react if he knew that he was talking to someone who technically had blood on their hands already.

"Most people would, yeah." A nod of his head and he tilted it to the side almost curiously for a moment. "Probably. I suppose they just decided that this method would be the most entertaining for them or something."

Yusuke knows there are people in his world-- and likely others-- who have hands stained with blood even at a young age. He might be shocked, but only for a moment before shock would become sadness. No one deserves to forego an actual childhood for such brutality.

"I fear you might be correct. In which case, we should do all we can to deny them their entertainment. I hope we can not only escape, but discourage them from ever trying something like this again with another group."

Normal people would have that kind of honest reaction, for the most part. The fact that he hadn't been allowed to have a proper childhood and trained to do nothing but be a cold-blooded killer could never be erased, but he was trying to do his best to enjoy his time here for what it mattered.

"That's a pretty optimistic way to think but... it's probably not impossible. Just have to convince them this is a bad idea or something and maybe they won't do it. It'd be easier just to kill them after getting the answers we need, because then there's no risk of them trying again after we're gone." Killua's tone was almost impossibly casual when he mentioned killing their captors, treating it like they were talking about nothing more than the possible weather outside.

That casualness doesn't go unnoticed. Yusuke gives him a look that can only be described as both curious and sad.

"You speak lightly of killing for someone so young. Do you truly believe such a thing is as easy as you seem to imagine it to be?"

It wasn't at all hard for Killua to catch the look the older teen gave him, raising an eyebrow briefly before the words that followed painted quite the picture of what was on his mind regarding this.

"Of course. If they're human then it should be too easy if we can outwit them, but if they're not... then that could make it difficult." He exhaled a sigh, shaking his head and seeming to muse on something for a moment or two. "...Does it bother you? The way I spoke of killing someone just now?"

"Yes, it does." Yusuke says it quietly, and though he is clearly uncomfortable there's also no trace of judgement in his tone. He sounds more sad than anything. "I feel sorry for you, if that is something you can accept so easily. Your age has little to do with it, I would feel the same even if you were a grown man."

So yes, Killua, this one has a gentle heart. Think less of him if you will, he won't be bothered by it.
