...we came in?
[There's no doubt that those who wake up will vaguely remember a dream.
In that dream, at least for most people, there are two figures, informing them each that they had a Title. With that title came a power. More than that, they were being given rooms, as if they were meant to stay in the dark and gloomy place where their dreams placed them. The Strangers might have found this to be a ridiculous proposition. Unless they have been through this before, then were probably not surprised in the least.
All of this, of course, ended with a sense of inexplicable dread for everyone. Especially when they woke up to find themselves in long, thin, cramped rooms, with only candlelight to give them any illumination.
Yes. Unfortunately, that dream had not been a dream at all, much as you might have hoped. You are here, now, inside an old, decrepit house where you have been given what appears to be a permanent residency. While you apparently have a power to aid you, it's no comfort. You have no option to leave, you have no way to escape, and the rules hammered to your door doesn't help the creeping sense of doom pooling in your stomach.
...
Now.
Where are those two figures that had greeted you to begin with?]

And what do you think is going to become of us here if we stay? If the people that took us have powers like that, who knows what else they might be able to do! For all we know, they might be able to turn people into dust if they get too close! The more foolish choice would probably be staying!

[Krone takes a big step back.]
Attempting to leave the Mansion on your own is likewise forbidden and will result in punishment.
[That one wasn't even rearranged for contextual clarity? She offers a gleaming smile.]
The most foolish choice is undoubtedly getting caught escaping. Give me the slightest evidence they don't have countermeasures against that? And I'd be glad to help you. For now, I'm helping the best way I know how.

But, thanks to the way that rule was worded, an idea comes to mind that could help.]
Well, for one thing, there don't exactly seem to be cameras around here. If we leave while they're not looking, we probably won't be noticed for a while.
Second, if it's against the rules to leave on your own, then maybe it would be best for us to go together.
[Because you can trust the woman with the noodle arms to actually be strong enough to hoist you over a wall.]

"You may not ask to leave the Mansion" is the preceding sentence. In that context, "on your own" presumably refers to "separate from the Stewards you'd otherwise be asking". Why, "your" own might even be plural.

[Don't worry about how that's exactly what she's doing, focus on her having a point]
And if they meant it to be plural, they would've said something like "Any guest attempting to leave will be punished." Instead, it just says attempting to leave on your own.
[Come on Krone! You know you wanna!]
