...we came in?
[There's no doubt that those who wake up will vaguely remember a dream.
In that dream, at least for most people, there are two figures, informing them each that they had a Title. With that title came a power. More than that, they were being given rooms, as if they were meant to stay in the dark and gloomy place where their dreams placed them. The Strangers might have found this to be a ridiculous proposition. Unless they have been through this before, then were probably not surprised in the least.
All of this, of course, ended with a sense of inexplicable dread for everyone. Especially when they woke up to find themselves in long, thin, cramped rooms, with only candlelight to give them any illumination.
Yes. Unfortunately, that dream had not been a dream at all, much as you might have hoped. You are here, now, inside an old, decrepit house where you have been given what appears to be a permanent residency. While you apparently have a power to aid you, it's no comfort. You have no option to leave, you have no way to escape, and the rules hammered to your door doesn't help the creeping sense of doom pooling in your stomach.
...
Now.
Where are those two figures that had greeted you to begin with?]

[A bit of a bitter smile.]
I can't pretend I have any idea what's going on, either. If there's something arcane that brought us here, it's nothing I have any knowledge of.

[She looks immediately nervous, eyes widening and fidgeting with her fingers.]
Ah, well. I didn't wake up feeling particularly out of sorts, so it's hard to imagine anything physically removed me from my location, you know? And lacking any physical evidence...
It's ridiculous, is't it? Thinking of things like magic. [Ahaha. Of course it is.] But it's hard to think of anything else. Perhaps that's childish of me...

Ah... you actually know someone who can operate at that high a level? I just... know a couple little "tricks," that's all.
[Emma you're a WITCH but okay go off]
And even then, I'm not sure they would work in this place. The... "stewards" told me I have some power over water, but I've really yet to test it.

Upstairs? I had seen some, erm. Maid uniforms? In one of the rooms by our chambers, but I didn't poke my head too far into it. I was just trying to get a general lay of the land, here.

[He'd comment about how she probably would look nice in one of the maid uniforms too, but she seems so shy that she'd probably take it wrong. At least the girls will have a change of clothes available, he'd look hideous in one of those.]

I see... probably meant for cleaning, then. Still, I suppose we have to make do with what we have available.
Perhaps I'll take one over to that open area across from the... facilities... [Cringe.] and see what I can do. It shouldn't cause too much of an issue if it i overflows there.

[And he'll go ahead and walk towards the door here.]
I'll even lead the way and scare off the spiders for you.

Ahaha... it's appreciated, sir.
...Oh!
[She pauses, as if she's just realized something.]
I haven't even introduced myself yet, have I? I'm sorry. My name is Emma Millstein. I'm sure if it weren't for this place, it'd be lovely to meet you.

Thanatos Beldine. I'd say the same, but you probably wouldn't want to meet me where I was before this. Not exactly a place one would go by choice. Though if we can figure out a way off that island, I'm sure the group here will figure out a way out of here.
[But true to his word, he does do his best to shoo away any spiders that come near him and they skitter away to the shadows.]

[This guy sure doesn't seem like a god of death! But okay, okay, following after him! Shoo, little spiders. You wouldn't want to get caught underfoot.]
Where were you before you were here, exactly?
no subject
Stranded on a deserted island that is mostly inhabited by creatures that would love to make me their next meal. Somehow survived it for over a year. Makes the name rather fitting when you consider how many times I've survived when I shouldn't have.

[...]
...I, ah. Hope that's not too weird of a thing to say?

Not strange at all. I'm glad Lady Luck has yet to leave me for a younger man too.

And here's hoping she does not!
[Hm. That talk about "Lady Luck" is kind of nostalgic, in a way. ...Best not to dwell on it.]
