...we came in?

POOR UNFORTUNATE SOULS

[There's no doubt that those who wake up will vaguely remember a dream.

In that dream, at least for most people, there are two figures, informing them each that they had a Title. With that title came a power. More than that, they were being given rooms, as if they were meant to stay in the dark and gloomy place where their dreams placed them. The Strangers might have found this to be a ridiculous proposition. Unless they have been through this before, then were probably not surprised in the least.

All of this, of course, ended with a sense of inexplicable dread for everyone. Especially when they woke up to find themselves in long, thin, cramped rooms, with only candlelight to give them any illumination.

Yes. Unfortunately, that dream had not been a dream at all, much as you might have hoped. You are here, now, inside an old, decrepit house where you have been given what appears to be a permanent residency. While you apparently have a power to aid you, it's no comfort. You have no option to leave, you have no way to escape, and the rules hammered to your door doesn't help the creeping sense of doom pooling in your stomach.

...

Now.

Where are those two figures that had greeted you to begin with?]

[Harriet's been searching this room for any sign of food, but... Why is that woman so interested in the glasses? If they were hiding something, it'd be pretty obvious by now. They're literally transparent. But it's not too useful to be totally isolated, so she'll just take a stab at it to make conversation.]

Trying to check your reflection?

Goodness gracious, no.

[She snarks this out, words crisp but tone of voice sharp. Realizing this might not be the best first impression to make, she turns around, raising her arms all "caught red-handed".]

Why? Do you want a turn?
whiterosefoes: (but don't worry! don't panic!)

Nah, there's no point. I left all my mascara back at uni.

[And Yugioh hair simply happens. It wasn't that serious of a suggestion anyway.]

You just seemed rather focused there.

Hmmm. [A faintly improving noise, as she's scanning Harriet's appearance - with every reason to assume the hair did not just happen, Krone's overall conclusion is that the younger woman is, by conscious design, fairly adorable.]

Well, I mostly thought it would be nice to know just what and where everything is around here. You might have caught me staring at plates a moment later. [In other words their reflective properties aren't quite the charm point they seemed.]

Hmm, in that case, have you found any sort of a kitchen yet? I thought it'd be near the dining room, but apparently not.

[Of course, she's not really expecting there would be food. The rules prepared her to be discouraged on this account.]

[She shakes her head, frowning.]

It's strange. Wouldn't keeping the tableware somewhere else be cleaner? Closer to wherever they can get washed. I almost wonder if there's a separate kitchen with other tableware, and what we see here is just for use on special occasions.
