[There's no doubt that those who wake up will vaguely remember a dream.

In that dream, at least for most people, there are two figures, informing them each that they had a Title. With that title came a power. More than that, they were being given rooms, as if they were meant to stay in the dark and gloomy place where their dreams placed them. The Strangers might have found this to be a ridiculous proposition. Unless they have been through this before, then were probably not surprised in the least.

All of this, of course, ended with a sense of inexplicable dread for everyone. Especially when they woke up to find themselves in long, thin, cramped rooms, with only candlelight to give them any illumination.

Yes. Unfortunately, that dream had not been a dream at all, much as you might have hoped. You are here, now, inside an old, decrepit house where you have been given what appears to be a permanent residency. While you apparently have a power to aid you, it's no comfort. You have no option to leave, you have no way to escape, and the rules hammered to your door doesn't help the creeping sense of doom pooling in your stomach.

[ She can't help but smile encouragingly, her words honest and straightforwards. ]

I would have loved to have seen your power over plant growth myself.

[Aw, that's sweet of her.] Maybe you will, if we can find some way to get our original abilities back. [It's not like he'd really mind giving up fire powers.]

Great! I'm not sure how but i'm positive we'll find a way!

[ Well she's a good hearted optimist so this comes natural to her. ]

I'd offer to show you some of my transformation magic in turn but there's not even a source here I could draw from, even if we did get our normal powers back.

Well, judging from the rules list, our two captors do seem at odds somewhat. We may be able to capitalize on that at some point.

[He nods.] I'm guessing such a source only exists in your own world, then?

Oooh, yeah! We could use that against them probably!

[ That's a game plan she could get behind, honestly. ]

Pretty much, yeah. I mean, things are a little different now than what it was before, but if this isn't my world then there's no guarantee magic would work here so... yeah.

Perhaps we could distract them by tricking them into an argument at some point, as well. [He looks a bit curious at her comment.]

Mm-hm! Just gotta find the right subject and that'd probably do it!!

[ There's a couple different emotions that flickered across Akko's face just then, seeming to consider how to explain things before she perked up once more. ]

Due to a whoooole bunch of crazy stuff that happened back home close to when I showed up here? It changed how people saw witches and created a new power source for us since they now believe in us and know we can protect the world when it's needed!

[ Cue lots of animated gesturing as she speaks, eyes bright and a smile on her face. ]

Essentially it means that I think us witches really don't have to rely on the Sorcerer's stone to do magic anymore like we had to before.

[This is assuming a lot of background information, but he thinks he gets the gist.] Ah, that's good to hear. I suppose people can surprise you with what they're willing to accept sometimes. [He's read a bit about witch burnings and stuff like that, so he's not that surprised they didn't go public.]

[ She nods eagerly, practically almost bouncing on th balls of her feet now. ]

Mm-hm! I mean, with the weird situation that was going on at the time, I think it made things easier in that regard but i'm definitely not complaining!

[ Akko made a sort of circular gesture as if trying to indicate the image of a world as she continued on. ]

It's a whole new era in the world and I think it's only gonna get better! I just wish I was able to actually show you a couple of my spells instead of just talking about them.

Well, I suppose the anticipation will make it all the sweeter once I actually get the chance to see them.

[ You just made her day there, Franciscus. If the way she has absolutely not stopped smiling at all says something. If possible her smile is much more radiant now. ]

[ Soexcited about this and it can't be helped. ]

There's this transforming magic I can do, where I use a spell to turn into all kinds of creatures! Like a mouse, a bird, you name it!

Really? [Shapeshifting abilities are still somewhat rare, after all.] Becoming a bird definitely sounds like one of the best uses of such an ability. Though I suppose I may be biased, seeing as I have a fondness for birds myself.

Mm-hm!

[ She is SO proud of her skills in that department, and sure the forms they take aren't the prettiest but she can at least manage to do the magic at all and that's a great accomplishment for her. ]

Then it's decided! Soon as I'm able to actually cast magic again, i'll turn myself into a bird first! [ There's a small laugh that follows that. ] Though I am curious, is there a reason you're so fond of birds?

Well...avian and Flying-type Pokemon are my specialty, after all. And they're magnificent to watch in flight.

They are, but... Pokemon? What are those?

[ Please enlighten her. ]

Ah, they're one of the dominant species in my world, though they come in a great variety of forms. They work alongside humans, and as many of them have a desire for battle they often end up forming partnerships with trainers who can assist them in that regard.

[alwaysgonnatry]

Whoah! That sounds amazing!! They're like animals but they can partner up with people and actually fight!?

[ You've totally intrigued her there, Franciscus. ]

Think maybe you'd let me meet one someday?

Oh, certainly. My team always enjoys meeting new people. Though I don't know where they are right now, I'll introduce you the moment I find them again.

I look forwards to it! You'll get to see my magic someday and I'll get to meet one of your pokemon!

[ A pause and then without preamble, continues as if she'd never paused to start with. ]

Could you tell me more about what your home is like?

Well, I mentioned Pokemon trainers already...there are also Gyms, which are meant to test a trainer's strength and skill. Most of them focus on a single Type, and the leaders have different teams based on the skill of the challenger. Defeating the leader earns the challenger a Badge, and eight Badges allow a challenger to attend the Pokemon League. Though it's different in every region, and they all have their own styles.

That's incredible! If I was there, i'd totally be going and getting those badges!

[ Just the idea has her all psyched up now, completely animated in these gestures of hers as she speaks. ]

I mean, I know I'd have to work REALLY hard to do it but if I put as much effort into it as I have with my becoming a witch, I think I could do it!

[Man, she's so enthusiastic. It actually makes his chest sting a bit, since he probably won't get to return there, ever-it's not like that was really his home world in the first place, technically. But he doesn't want to just crush her dreams either.]

You'd have plenty of guidance on the way, as well. Trainers can get free medical treatment from Pokecenters and discounts at Pokemarts, and there are plenty of more experienced people willing to offer advice.

So cool!! I can't get over just how much fun it sounds like it would be!

[ Everything about this had merit and it made her frustrated that she couldn't actually do anything other than just simply imagine what it would be like to be in that world of his. ]

I wonder what type I'd collect if I was there... [ She pauses and then looks up to Franciscus once more. ] What type do you think would suit me?

Fairy or Psychic-types, perhaps. Those are the types more closely associated with magic. Or perhaps Ghost-types, since there is an actual Ghost-type that has a witchlike appearance.
