WEEK 2

WEEK 2

[The new week comes.

Those who have eaten the offered food from the Stewards will find themselves much more refreshed and energetic. They will also find their need for food is practically nonexistent for the rest of the week. However, that may not be the only side effect of their sustenance they might find-nor will all of the side effects be pleasant.

There are no new floors to explore, though there is a bouncy castle in the arena now. (Thanks, Harriet.) There is also the possibility that there may be more to find on these floors-or maybe they are just going on a wild goose chase. Or maybe there is something to find, though those who look for answers may not like what they find.

And what of the number of Strangers left? The Stewards have already allowed a murderer to get away with their crime scot free, and no one else has uncovered the culprit. Who knows what else the Stewards might have up their sleeves?

There are fourteen strangers left.]

Oh, that explains a lot.

[What precisely is explained, Krone won't elaborate; but the last syllable, the most plosive one, is what she picks up on and puts into her pocket. She figures he wouldn't say a strange woman's name in public for no reason - and they're in the music room. Contrary to popular belief, true enjoyment of this hobby can involve a lot of math.

She's turning around, then, showing off her high heel. Between her leggings and her upper body strength, Krone actually has a lot of practice supporting her maintenance of a sexless angle, despite the painstaking precision that requires.]
Please, there's so much room for fingers down here if you're interested! [She casts her eyes up and down his body, like she did when they first met, though there's a fierce tension of her arms showing through more.] Besides, it wouldn't be quite fair, would it? Mr. Fast~.

I...

[He can almost hear a laugh - almost. It's "almost hearing" enough to know he isn't really, and that the words that come next (You're on your own now, Hero) are just as not-real.

He has made his living and kept his life by being observant, even if he's not the most skilled at reading why someone's posture might change. He'd mis-stepped again, letting himself say that first part out loud. He may be misreading what she's said, may be seeing irritation at the invocation of someone not here where there is none. Really, he deserves a kick for that. But he is on his own, and if Gwendolyn were really with him, she led him here.

This is a house of nightmares. He has been reduced to combing the worst snarls from his hair using flatware. The two of them are not alone - and perhaps it's that last that actually pushes him to it, that lets him square his shoulders and grin.
]

Never mind what I said, any of it. I can hold that power back, Krone. You said I had good legs for dancing - how much do you know of the dances of my homeland?

[He has no cloak to whirl off and toss away, but the theatrical flourish of the way he extends a hand towards her illustrates well enough what he'd have done before that were he able.]

Between the pair of us, even if you were to start off just mirroring my lead, that on the floor can be splinters.
