WEEK 2

[The new week comes.

Those who have eaten the offered food from the Stewards will find themselves much more refreshed and energetic. They will also find their need for food is practically nonexistent for the rest of the week. However, that may not be the only side effect of their sustenance they might find-nor will all of the side effects be pleasant.

There are no new floors to explore, though there is a bouncy castle in the arena now. (Thanks, Harriet.) There is also the possibility that there may be more to find on these floors-or maybe they are just going on a wild goose chase. Or maybe there is something to find, though those who look for answers may not like what they find.

And what of the number of Strangers left? The Stewards have already allowed a murderer to get away with their crime scot free, and no one else has uncovered the culprit. Who knows what else the Stewards might have up their sleeves?

That's also true. [Another sigh.] But at least here we have just the spiders and bats to coexist with. [Also maybe the rats? But apparently they're not considered part of the protected group.]

At least the bats are cute. Not so sure about spiders.

As long as none of them descend from the ceiling into my face, I think I can cohabitate with them pleasantly enough for now.

[the thought of a spider freaking out Franciscus makes him snort. he joins his hands together at the thumbs, wiggling his fingers]

I'm a creepy crawly spider... I'm coming for you...! [wigging his fingers in Franciscus' face now]

[Franciscus leans back, trying to look unimpressed, but a chuckle finally builds up as well.] Ah, that's not fair! You have free reign of the place and the protection of the Stewards.

[he lowers his hands. ah, if only]

This is probably karma for all the spiders humanity's ever killed, or something.

...you know, I wouldn't put it past that being one of their actual motivations. [It does seem like a cult-ish thing to say, after all...]

Well, whatever their motivation is, it doesn't mean they have the right to grab us. Maybe they'll realize that once their plan fails.

[He nods.] Hopefully in some way that makes it clear failure was in the very nature of the plan. We shouldn't let them just go on and abduct other people for a second try, after all...

Exactly! I'll do everything I can to make sure this doesn't happen again!

[Franciscus appreciates the determination.] Everyone's bedrooms are close together, right? We should be able to hear any commotion in the night. [They're probably going to be on edge on Thursdays anyways.]

Oh, yeah! That's true. And they're all so small. It's like, nothing but sleeping can happen in there.

Pretty much. [Though who knows, there's probably a few more things you could do even in a cramped bed like that.] As long as no one stays up too late, it'll likely be alright.

[okay, he's feeling a bit better about things. for now, at least. that'll probably change the closer it gets to Friday]

Yeah! [a nod... though they probably should go check and see if there is anything else to repair. not that Osomatsu will be much help]

[Franciscus carefully stands the table back up to make sure it's good. The legs are no longer completely even...but at least it looks solid enough.]

Alright, that's one down, I suppose. Let me see how well I can do with the rest here... [Because some of them do look way more damaged...]

[he could really go for some soda right about now, or lemonade. like he's been working all day in the hot sun. he hasn't]
