THE FIRST PROSCRIPTION
(CW: Coffins, claustrophobia in general, skeleton bones)
My goodness! You are all so fascinating. Your convictions change like the tides, your certainty wavers so easily! So many whiffle-whaffles among you!
[Suddenly, a bright light from above lights up. It's a chandelier...made of human skeleton bones and skulls. Despite all of the candles lighting up, the light only seems to shine on one individual, as the Elder Steward strolls forward.]
I must say, for a moment, it seemed all but certain that you would condemn an innocent woman. If only The Embarrassing kept her mouth shut for a few moments more, hm? Then no one would have noticed the mistake that The Enemy had written upon the evidence list!
[A thoughtful tap to the lips, then-even visible beneath the cowl-a cruel smile as he turns to look at Felicity.]
Though I suppose it shouldn't be a surprise that she was so cruel to a young one while attempting to condemn another using a so-called 'moral high ground'. After all-it's not the first person, much less child, whose life she's ruined with her hypocrisy.
Is it, my dear?
no subject
[He hardly seems cowed by her.]
Or do you truly want me to list all of your crimes here, so you may rebut them all?
no subject
How about you tell them about those egg-things that are growing inside them?!?
[She sounds extremely vindictive, like this might actually be important.]
no subject
...grow?
[Right, ok, he's just going to laugh in your face]
They don't grow, you fool! What do you think they are? Plants?! Chickens!?
[He smacks his chest as he turns to the Younger Steward.]
Please tell me she is joking!
no subject
Admit it! That food is going to change them, isn't it?!?
[It's hard to tell if she's really making a point or making an idiot of herself...]
no subject
Oh, oh, oh, I see. You're paranoid that we are hurting them, is that it?
How ironic, coming from you.
[Then, without warning, he strolls over to Felicity, glowering over her...before holding a clawed wrist out to her.
His tone might be a bit condescending.]
Go on, my dear. I'll give you one for free.
no subject
Are you kidding? I don't care what happens to them! I'm just trying to prove that that food is going to going to be the end of them!
[Well, she doesn't beat around the bush-]
Second, what are you offering me?
no subject
[A hmph.]
An answer to a question. Any question you desire, seeing as your are so determined. I will answer it truthfully. You need only take my hand and ask.
no subject
But no, it was just a gesture of... good will, of sorts. A kindness to the damned.
He's going to watch this carefully.]
no subject
She puts her hand in his, and asks the question that she wants to know most about this place.]
What is that food going to do to them?
no subject
The food will not harm them or kill them. Indeed, it will strengthen them, mind and body, and eventually allow them to realize the full extent of their unique abilities, as Our Lady desired from the beginning.
[Then, he yanks his hand away with incredible strength.]
Surely that will suffice, will it not?
no subject
Of course not, but I assume I don't get a second one?
no subject
