FINAL WEEK

FINAL WEEK

[There are no new floors that open today.

No food, if you didn't bring any with you. No way to figure out how much more anyone can take of this. There's just no way to know. Half of your number are gone. Half of your number either betrayed, or were betrayed. It is overwhelming and terrible-and who knows what more is to come.

You can feel the shift in the air. The fear, the strain, the tension, between everyone who is left. What can anyone do? Is there any way out of this? Is everyone truly condemned, after all? Who will betray whom?

What will happen next?

There are seven strangers left in this place.]

((OOC NOTE: This post is your last chance to have your characters explore the Mansion and all of its corners for possible clues. After the Final Investigation is open on Thursday, the Mansion will still be accessible, but the Strangers will be unable to uncover any new clues-or alter their Nightmare levels-in Investigations or Encounters.

You have been warned.

It's about time.

[For their lady to put her money where her mouth is—Giriko was very clear about this—yet also for someone to fight Krone about this revelation like all the little noble hearts keep screaming they would. It's odd that Harriet looks like this while Krone is crushed by the certainty she isn't hallucinating, but where costume changes are concerned, it's not like Krone is one to talk.

She tosses the piece of chocolate into the air for Harriet to catch. If it's rejected, might as well get right into it and have her hands free.]

You've got only a couple days, you might have to catch up by kicking down someone the consensus didn't even condemn.

[She catches the chocolate chunk on the tip of her lance. That it's sharp enough to do that instead of bouncing it off is pleasing.]

You're mistaken if you thought I ever cared about the consensus. That we are expected to vote in our own atrocities is one of the most insidious things these places do, and everyone I actually wanted to work with is dead. In the end, it didn't matter if they were like Dupree or like Millstein.

[She reaches for the skewered snack now, grabbing it off to hold by her face.]

I warned you about putting blood in the water.

[She goes in for just a bite, because she is starving, and it smells so good the temptation is overwhelming to drop her lance. In turn, that scares her so much that instead she completely crushes it in her fist.]

Aah... shit. One second. Fuck!

[She's removing her glove, now covered in chocolate, and dropping it on the ground next to her, looking flustered.]

[- And then she springs on her feet right toward Krone, her bare hand reaching out for the tap.]

Let me have some more!
