[Well, Champions, it certainly does look like you're trapped here.

There's limited food and limited supplies... and while there's a limited number of you, there's certainly too many of you for what you've got on hand. Never mind the whole deal that you've been kidnapped and shoved into someone else's house. Like, who even does that?

And all to "send a message," besides. Whatever that even means.

Regardless, things aren't going to change by just sitting and moping around. You're here until your captor decides he's done with you, so while there's no guarantee that acting won't just make things worse, it's got to be at least a little better than this.

Well, basically: sometimes there can be worlds that are very similar and have the same events played out but there's only a few things that are different. . .

Like for example, let's go with me. In one world, there's an iteration of myself that winds up falling in love with a friend from school and dates him. And in another, there's an iteration of myself who doesn't end up dating him, if that makes sense.

That makes sense.

[ ...Honestly, Gaius supposed he should be somewhat skeptical. But, after everything that's happened back home and now? It sounds plausible, really. And she seemed kind of honest? ]

How did you end up getting to know him?

We kind of. . . worked together? In the same place. He was sometimes a gofer for drinks and small things like that.

And then we were in a situation like this -- at a Hotel, where I guess we became friends?

[ It's Complicated. ]

[ He lets out a little chuckle.

"Gofer", huh? He had a feeling that no matter where he is, Rean wouldn't change. He'd always be doing something to help out others. That's just the kind of person he is. ]

At a hotel? [ Hmm...well, it's not surprising Gaius is still rather curious. It seems harmless enough at any rate. ] Do you mind if I ask what kind of place you both worked together in before you two went to a hotel?

It's. . . classified stuff.

[ Which is actually the truth but also she really doesn't want to talk too much on the details. ]

...I see.

[ He's disappointed, but he seems like he has no intention of prying any further. It's not the Rean he knows, at any rate. ]

Sorry.

[ She smiles apologetically, rubbing at the nape of her neck. ]

I can say that he was a nice person, though. And he helped me with a few things, too.

[ Really, he's chill about it and though he was disappointed, it's not the end of the world. ]

Rean always did his best to help others, so I'm not surprised. But, it's reassuring to know he hasn't changed, no matter the circumstances, or where he may be.

And I did appreciate a lot of what he taught me.

He'd certainly make a good teacher.

[ There's a small pause, and he moves his hand to rest on his chest. ]

Thank you for being by his side, Inaba. I can't say I know the circumstances, but I'm sure you've been just as helpful to him as he has to you. And, if you see him again, give him my regards.

[ And now she looks slightly embarrassed and sheepish, enough that she scratches the side of her cheek. ]

But that isn't something to thank me for. I really didn't do much, but I will, if I see him.
