The world's leading experts have been trying to find a cure, to no avail. Th blight keeps changing, keeps foiling all attempts at being fully understood. It's almost sentient, or at least more sentient than any disease that's been encountered before. People fear the disease jumping from what's left of the grapes into other plants, into animals, or even humans.
You can only watch as entire economies and ecosystems collapse. You can only bury your head in your hands as your own business comes to its end. The destruction of the clusters of grapes has not simply destroyed the wine industry, either-other businesses are being destroyed by the plague. Food, transport, retail, nothing is untouched.
You look on your own vineyard, its yield almost entirely blackened and dead.
This can't keep going on.

A week has passed since everyone's arrival. No one has died, yet. But surely no one is holding their breath to see if they would survive this unscathed. They are veterans of the game, and they must know that whoever it is that is in charge demands their pound of flesh. The question is when it will happen.
It is the second week, after all-and when the second week of the game comes, death is not far behind. Not even when you wake up, feeling something different in your mind as you remember the truths you originally woke up with, deep in your mind. You feel...lighter, somehow, when you realize there is a change.

Even so, there are 15 strangers left in this place.]

Do not drink the milk. One of the library books called ARE YOU DEVIATING? FIVE WAYS YOU CAN GET BACK ON SCHEDULE, gives drink your milk as a way to get back on schedule.
Anyone with animals should also take care that their animals do not drink the milk.
She doesn't sign it to be safe. If they are less inclined to trust, she named the book and they can look for themselves to confirm it. Feel free to run into her as she's doing this or just assume your character found the note.]
[Later on Vita will be looking for McBurn to give him his clothes back. She'll also be leaving the other items she found, minus the waiter's outfit and lock of hair, in the dining room again. Since there are no potentially dangerous objects this time, she's just going to grab some food afterwards and leave.]
his clothing;
Need something?

I got these out of the vending machine and thought you might want them back.
[Seriously, she never thought she'd have to be do something like this, but she knows how difficult such clothing is to obtain. She smiles and hands him the clothing.]
no subject
You're not wrong about that.
[ McBurn yoinked them right when she handed them over. ]
Kind of was a pain going without them last time something like this happened.

[She is curious what sort of power he has, but knows very well it's not going to be anywhere near what he lost just like it is for her.]
no subject
It would. [ Beat. ] Too bad the powers I have right now are flat out useless and couldn't even come close to comparing to what I had originally.
[ Granted, compared to his original strength? That's not a surprise...but still, he's never been pleased with the powers he's retained in these situations. ]
no subject
[But with most of those powers being less than useful, even that wasn't of much use.]
no subject
[ That being said, since he figured people would know about how his power worked and they're co-workers anyway... ]
The one I have right now is the ability to turn into wood or paper. So it's the most useless power to me.

For you, it sounds like it. That would be more ideal for someone like Bleublanc. Mine is to summon two barbed wires and they vanish fast. Also a bit of a disturbing reminder.
[And she probably should mention she resigned, but at the same time her loyalty to the Grandmaster hasn't changed.]
no subject
[ McBurn was entirely sure it was done on purpose too. So he'll forever be salty over there. Really, honestly.
...Funny how it works that the two (?) Ouroboros members had the worst luck in powers being attained. ]
...Not really much of a power if they end up disappearing fast. And reminder of what?
[ Like wow, what if you need to stab someone to death and they're standing 30 feet away?! Okay, maybe that's not on Vita's thought process, but hey. ]
no subject
I know it wasn't like this in you group, but in mine those who died came back to life. I'm not very useful without my magic, so I ended up being the first one to die. The weapon was a cord around the same thickness as the wires in my power.

...Still sounds like the killer got lucky.
[ Well, he vaguely remembered the first meeting and there being an argument centered around the individual killed Vita through his half paying attention, so he didn't ask about the who. Though, speaking of coming back to life... ]
How'd you get yourself revived?

Our bodies were dumped in a river that had healing powers strong enough to even revive the dead. Our captor, Marie, was a complete idiot at times. We ended up washing up at a temple downstream from the Base itself and the priestess of the temple let us stay there.
[Though she does have ideas on how to revive the Train and Mansion's dead, she's thinking it is a bad idea to mention to one of her former associates that she went and stole something from the Black Workshop. She'll offer that if she lives and no other option is found because she's not letting another timeline's Emma stay dead.]

...Your captor dumped you into a healing river and let you all wash downstream? [ ... ] Guess I can see why you're calling her an idiot.
[ But hey, she's alive, so that's good. Besides the whole 'wow we've been drawn into another murdergame' dealio, but that's fine, everyone here's got that to contend with. ]

[ Like, big time. ]
How did the rest of them escape? Was there some showdown?
[ As in a badass fight? Then again he supposed considering the captor he was hearing about so far, he houldn't expect much. ]

Halley then arrived to the temple and found us, she thought we were dead and was confused by it. So she left her army there to head to the Base and find out what was going on.
Those of us at the temple finished fixing up the machine we found, thanks to Naoya and myself being familiar with such things. It's a bit like a Soldat, but made to hold up to 15 people and a pilot. The others called it a mecha. We took that to the Base ready to fight Halley's army if needed to get our friends out and we broke into the Base. We arrived to find they had persuaded Halley to let all of us go and help us get out of there. In exchange we helped her to find a life as a human child away from her abusive aunt Marie because the only life she'd known was as a virus made to kill the person we were all inside.

WELL THEN. That was actually a little more than he expected?? There wasn't a real showdown with a physical fight, but it sounded like things heated up for a bit. ]
...Sounds like all of you ended up having quite the time. Can't say I anticipated hearing any of that involving an army.
