[As soon as the investigation has wrapped up, the voices of the Hosts suddenly echo through the City.]

Hi, Strangers! You remember what happens if you don't show up at the trial, right? Maybe we'll have every single one of those things done to you this time!! Don't worry, it's right up the elevator.

You all could have avoided this, you know! But now we have to follow procedure. Only registered residents will be allowed inside - please leave all animal or other companions in a safe location.

[When the Strangers go to the elevator, they are suddenly plunged down once they get in. The doors open, and they are in a massive metal room, where fifteen cold, metal pedestals wait them. Each podium has the individual's name and room number splashed in a dot matrix green on a small monitor on the front, as if they were contestants on a game show. Two of the pedestals-9 and 14-have instead a red X in their computerized name slot, as opposed to a name.

In the corner of the room is a large area cordoned off from the Strangers by what looks like glass upon first look, but is, in fact, a force field. There is little doubt what that area is for, unless one is truly naïve.

Once everyone has finally gotten into place, five of the podiums' dot matrix name plates suddenly flash with a red border.]

THE BAD LUCK
THE BRITTLE
THE EMBARRASSING
THE NAGGING
THE UNKNOWN
For some of you, this is the first time dealing with a double body discovery announcement... How does it feel? You don't want to... be emotionally numb or anything, do you?

They look so unhappy, Hiyori. It didn't have to be this way...

Hey, Link. Whose arms do you think they're going to rip off if they vote to convict one of the kiddos left in this game?

They'll probably try for ours, but that won't happen. But probably whoever argues for one of them the hardest...

[At this, the ever-present ticking suddenly grows louder. On one of the walls, a dot matrix clock comes to life, counting down the time everyone has until the Trial has been scheduled to end. You have your evidence-only you know what to do with it.

Well? The clock is ticking.

The trial for the murders of Akira Kurusu, The Nagging, and Kazuaki Nanaki, The Embarrassing, has begun.]

Hey, Link, it's getting a bit past five! Have you had your super delicious food pills for dinner yet?

[To the crowd:]

Any strangers who brought theirs to the trial today will get an extra smile the next time you see me again! Free of charge!

((PLEASE PUT QUESTIONS HERE IF YOU HAVE NEW ONES))

ACCOMPLICE RULES UPDATE

[personal profile] mermaidkin 2020-02-08 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, Link, did you know that if we were participants in this game, and another participant Hexadecimal gave me some poison to use, and then I fed you the lethally poisoned food pill, she would obviously know about how it must have happened and be an accomplice, but not necessarily on the suspect list, because she didn't directly kill a single person?

Well, now you know!
touchsensors: (I am endeavoring ma'am)

[personal profile] touchsensors 2020-02-08 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
...lun. Would that still be how it worked if you didn't know it was poison-lun?
mermaidkin: (Stroll)

[personal profile] mermaidkin 2020-02-08 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh.

Hm.

...I'm so sorry.
poorlovefool: (eh??)

[personal profile] poorlovefool 2020-02-08 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[he...actually does take pills instead of the nasty food, but the revelations today are certainly calling this into question enough that he's not exactly about to raise his hand here. sweats.]

You are really freaking me out today...
mermaidkin: (Reminiscence)

[personal profile] mermaidkin 2020-02-08 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I know... that up here in this cozy, very modernly furnished observation room, I'm not exactly in a position to say this... but I'm having a pretty long day.
poorlovefool: (point)

[personal profile] poorlovefool 2020-02-08 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Liar! You're talking about smiling when two people have been killed...!

[he's the biggest hypocrite isn't he]
mermaidkin: (Smile)

[personal profile] mermaidkin 2020-02-08 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Isn't it because this tragedy happened that I absolutely have to smile?

After all, I need to focus on my duties here. They're not going away any time soon.
poorlovefool: (profile squint)

[personal profile] poorlovefool 2020-02-08 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmph.

[hard to argue with that]
unwittingking: (Though hamburgers are good too)

[personal profile] unwittingking 2020-02-08 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[…okay, you know what? He brought pills, even though he doesn't like eating them

But.

He's not going with this right now.

So instead of having any of the pills he brought, he's just. Dumping all of them on the ground. Looking Hiyori in the eye.

There's one thing he can agree on with Vita, and it's that this host can go to Hell.]
byanyother_name: (Excuse you?)

[Kurama hates that he feels the need to ask this question. But he does.]

If the dead are voted for, will that cause anything to happen to their souls?
mermaidkin: (Reminiscence)

[personal profile] mermaidkin 2020-02-08 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
As I just told Lala Hagoromo, they're dead.

If it makes you feel any better, we did find a place on one of the train stops where the dead spoke to us. They sounded like they were doing all right.
byanyother_name: (Little bit sad?)

[personal profile] byanyother_name 2020-02-08 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Honestly, I would feel less concerned if there were not so many Noise in this place. They're capable of 'killing' souls.
katzenpfote: (gazing up)

[personal profile] katzenpfote 2020-02-08 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
... That... is an issue, ja. I still don't quite understand it... but he was in the place you saw them before, right? I think he stands a chance.
backuphero: (Default)

[personal profile] backuphero 2020-02-09 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Just out of curiosity... you wouldn't be able to tell us who voted for whom, would you?
backuphero: (and you're... sure about that?)

[personal profile] backuphero 2020-02-09 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
What would you do, then?
mermaidkin: (Respect)

[personal profile] mermaidkin 2020-02-09 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, and here I was thinking I had to not name names!

That said, we'll be giving out numeric totals on the votes. So you'll know how many people doubted any given suspect, if any.
backuphero: (["Faraway Days" grows louder])

[personal profile] backuphero 2020-02-09 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
That's... it's something, I guess.

[His voice is dull, his eyes downcast. It's something, but it's not enough.]
