I'm not going to really summarize everything I found again. [ It's a lot, everyone can see it, and it's a pain. ] Anyone want to talk about why "mercury" would be just lying around?

It's poisonous, but that seems a bit extra when there's the berries around.

If you throw it at someone, are the effects immediate?

I think it depends on if it's pure mercury or not... I don't know a lot about this, we don't use it in magic.

Yeah, it's gonna depend if it's pure quicksilver or not - the pure form's actually less dangerous than compounds. Pure quicksilver isn't gonna do much just from skin contact, it doesn't get absorbed all that easy even by the digestive system.

Unless it's a vapor, but that's not what we're looking at, here.

Did we even see anything like splashed mercury on their bodies? Could it have caused the burns, or was that definitely fire?

I didn't see anything like that, but I wasn't searching the present.

Burns aren't really caused by quicksilver? It causes skin problems but not like those. This varies with if it's pure or a compound.

Though, quicksilver's sensitive to temperature changes, so if there was some nearby and it expanded enough with heat...

Some compounds are pretty flammable, so we're back to purity. Quicksilver itself it a metal.

I'm just thinking, if there was a fire, the quicksilver could expand and get out in the open that way, maybe. But like, everyone knows it's poisonous, so there usually isn't gonna just be quicksilver lying around in a kitchen, you know? So why's it there?

Yeah, it's heat-sensitive, but I dunno why anyone would use a poison metal with food. Even if just a little isn't gonna hurt, it just doesn't seem like a good idea.

The best I've got...maybe they wanted something that didn't point to them? You'd have to know which berries you're using, and I think most people on the suspect list don't know how they work.

They're usually pretty heavy...are you thinking what I think you're thinking?
