THE SECOND TRIAL

[The chimes don't announce the opening of the doors this time. Instead, the loud creaking of the doors to the Debate Hall echoing through the Depths are the only signal that the Titled are given. There is still the sense that they do not dare refuse to go.

There is, after all, two death to deal with, as the Intercessor's voice beckons.]

COME.

[This time, upon entering and taking their seats, two of the desks have been draped in black. No picture to commemorate the dead, no memorial of any kind - in fact, nothing at all save the black draping. It's like those in charge simply had no care to remember those two. It's likely the same befalls those who die this week, as well.

The chanting in the darkness on the stage is still present, and as before, the logs are folded neatly on the desk. Of course, this time, there is also an extra paper which seems to give a brief description of the evidence found.

Kindness? Or perhaps cruelty to dangle those things in front of the Titled? As the remaining Titled take their seats and the chanting stops, there is only one way to figure things out.

So, get ready, Titled.

The trial of Harley Quinn, the Deceiver, and Ai Haibara, The Dawn and Dusk, has begun.]

I don't like what's happening, period. And I'm not unknown anymore, am I? She already told you who I am.

But we still can't see you.

[And that's a problem.]

But not being able to see a person does tend to make ones... jumpy.

[ So mild. So polite. Not. ]

[strangerpeople]

[A long, long pause.

Finally, though, a man does appear. A very angry-looking, very muscular man with a beard and armor on his body. His once black hair is now gray and white, and his eyes have the faintest of animal-like light within.]

There. You all happy now? I hope you are.

I'm not.

[bythewaves]

[ Have a smile with too many teeth to be friendly ]

[strangerpeople]

[He ain't scared of you elf wanna fite]

You just don't get it do you? We've revealed ourselves and now, painted a bigger target on the back of someone who doesn't deserve it.

[bythewaves]

[ A polite tip of his head ]

And who is that someone?

[ Because so far as he's concerned, 99% of the people here don't deserve it (clearly, Maglor is the 1% that does) ]

[strangerpeople]

[The glare.]

Who do you think?

[bythewaves]

[ Still so polite forever ]

I was asking you. [ He says mildly ]

As I have yet to see any here who deserves it. [ Excepting himself. And yes, that includes you. ]

[lightnen]

[ Just raising an eyebrow briefly before snickering and folding his arms behind his head while grinning. ]

Wow. Could you be any more grumpy, old man?

[ Yeah he went there. ]

[strangerpeople]

Yeah yeah, yuk it up, whelp.

[God all of you are brats!!!]

[lightnen]

[ Sticking his tongue out at you now. Yup. He honestly doesn't care. ]

I have a name, you know. You'd probably be a lot better liked if you weren't so grumpy, but I suppose you probably don't care about that.

[strangerpeople]

What I care about is that we've put someone in mortal danger and we've made ourselves entirely expendable now.

[G l a r e]

So you'll have to forgive me if I'm a little upset about all of this.

[lightnen]

[ Okay so he WAS joking before. Now he seems to take things seriously, exhaling a soft sigh as his expression shifts a bit to become more serious. ]

How is revealing yourselves in this manner putting this person in mortal danger? I don't think I understand.

[ His gaze casts over to the Intercessor briefly. ]

Did you guys make a deal with the ones who are running this mess?
