MOCK WEEK

MOCK WEEK

[Awaken.

Fifteen strangers have been gathered to the Depths. When they awaken, they will feel nauseous in their stomachs. No doubt confused. Perhaps, even terrified. And certainly, there is a good reason for it - they are not where they were before. If they had powers back where they came from, they seem to be all gone. And it appears that someone has left...guidelines for them. Who? Its uncertain. So far, there seems to be no one else save for them in this hot and stuffy place. No...'intercessor' to be seen yet, certainly.

There are a few small graces for this group, at least. Their memories are intact. And, perhaps, they will discover the power that their Title brings to them. But these are only small graces.

So welcome.

There are fifteen strangers in this place.]

((OoC: Welcome to Mock Week! If you have any questions at all, feel free to PM here, or on plurk! And, feel free to join our handy dandy Discord chat!

EDIT: For clarification characters only know their own titles unless they are told otherwise by the character with the title, or by the Intercessor!))

That's another one for everybody being from different worlds. Yours must be pre-industrial, before everything went downhill as quickly as it did.

1/2 idk whether it was dw or gmail that decided I didn't need this notif

[personal profile] daughterofthemark 2017-04-20 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
Then there are whole other worlds out there?
daughterofthemark: (11F. Malice amidst a field of white)

[personal profile] daughterofthemark 2017-04-20 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
...but when you say everything went downhill...
crywiththesaints: Mulling something over (now arise)

Simply a theory, and an uncommon one. Though here, it seems, the secret is out. As for your other question, industrialization taxes the world around us. Mass production leads to pollution and waste, better health to overpopulation, development to habitat loss. But any dominant life form, no, any life in general will always want to make things better for themselves, won't they?
daughterofthemark: (02F. Hazardous habitat)

[Okay, she gets... most of that.]

But who would stand to benefit from such things? All of them seem entirely negative.
crywiththesaints: "Perish." (that's crumbling apart)

[personal profile] crywiththesaints 2017-04-20 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
By the time people fully understand the side effects of what they've been doing, their way of life is such that they can't just stop. Haven't you observed that even in your own life?
daughterofthemark: (15F. Gateway to sorrow)

[personal profile] daughterofthemark 2017-04-20 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
N-no, I... no.

[...but apparently that was close enough to hit home anyway.]
crywiththesaints: Mulling something over (now arise)

[Sakura just nods, watching her.]

It makes me wonder about the nature of the world we're in now. Of course, it could simply be that technology doesn't always develop on a flat level from one world to the next, and innovation has focused in some areas over others. What do you think?
daughterofthemark: (12F. Daunting frozen path)

[personal profile] daughterofthemark 2017-04-20 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh good, a subject with 100% less "you caused things without realizing it."]

It seems plausible. It's hard to imagine all technologies depending on each other. If we'd never thought of bridges, for example, that doesn't mean we wouldn't have discovered gunpowder.
crywiththesaints: Unimpressed look (you're caught in loneliness again)

[personal profile] crywiththesaints 2017-04-20 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
It seems like a place with strange priorities, then, but I can't discard the possibility. Have you found anything about this place?
daughterofthemark: (07F. Red walls against the will)

[personal profile] daughterofthemark 2017-04-21 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
I'm afraid not. The Intercessor is likely our best source of information for now.
crywiththesaints: Smirking (face the dark you despise)

[personal profile] crywiththesaints 2017-04-21 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
Unfortunate. I have tried talking to them, but they are a little... well, that can't be helped, we might all be "a little" something.
daughterofthemark: (06F. A dancing blue vortex)

[personal profile] daughterofthemark 2017-04-21 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
[Arianna is certainly "a little" something, and right now it's preventing her from entirely getting it, but after a moment she decides it's probably not important.]

They seem interested in sharing stories once we're "settled in," at least.
crywiththesaints: Impressed (still like a doll)

[personal profile] crywiththesaints 2017-04-21 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
That could still mean once someone's dead.
crywiththesaints: Critical look (and the past that it leaves)

[personal profile] crywiththesaints 2017-04-21 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
I'm simply keeping the options open. Given the sort of people we're dealing with...
daughterofthemark: (03F. Field of mortal peril)

[personal profile] daughterofthemark 2017-04-21 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
You really think someone here would...
crywiththesaints: Looking informal and friendly (awakes me to this stillness)

[personal profile] crywiththesaints 2017-04-21 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
I think the ones who kidnapped us all here think so and are counting on it.
