WEEK 2

[It's been one week on the Gigantic
and it's clear that Zero
is a big dickzzzzzsht



A week has passed. However, there is no denying anymore that the power Zero possesses is very real. One person is already dead because of this, regardless of what, exactly, the Gimme's role in it was.

There is also no denying that the ship is somehow powered by blood, if not made of blood entirely. Why? How? And what do the clues uncovered in the previous week have to do with it?

The watches, meanwhile have not changed in any way. Everyone is still in their color groups. The doors to the next floor are still locked as well. Perhaps those are also murder dependent. Which is...also not good. But at least there's food and laundry down here, so...maybe it'll get boring eventually, but for now, infinite confinement on the bottom decks of the ship may not be so bad. right?

It's not the worst secret that could have come out like this. Given the nature of what he does, I would have suspected it had something to do with that.

Our secrets coming out like this... It's a bit strange now that you bring it up. Though we seem not to have proven any such personalities in our group, I can imagine someone killing over this more easily than a cheeseburger.

[voidseeing]

Maybe that's the point. Offer up a reward that no one would be willing to kill for, then reveal secrets that some of us don't want known to give us a real reason to kill.

[yesorwoof]

You think this is a trick to get someone to kill all the witnesses to their secret?

My, that's cold even for a Devil.

[voidseeing]

Might be. Doesn't that seem more reasonable than a cheeseburger?

[yesorwoof]

[She gives an exhausted look again.]

A cheeseburger surprised me so much that I started to wonder if Zero really isn't working alone.

[voidseeing]

Oh?

[There's a decidedly intrigued note to his voice now. Do tell more, Makima.]

I can't recall exactly when I heard it said that Zero might be a mere mouthpiece for a mastermind. It seemed an unnecessarily complicated theory at first. But after all his droning about fate and his honorifics... Doesn't the assortment of prizes seem a little strange? It's not so much as a flower that represents life is fleeting.

[voidseeing]

It's not unlikely. In my experience, there's almost always someone else behind the curtain.

[Both in the GHQ and in Kansai as well.]

A mouthpiece makes an easy - and visible - target for any sort of anger from the populace, which allows the real mastermind to continue their work uninterrupted.

[She really does need to find out more about his "experience" some time.]

In this case, though, we're confined to the ship pretty thoroughly, so I'm not sure why the mastermind behind Zero would need to hide. I've heard of the cliché where the true mastermind is among us, but that feels a little too rich for my blood right now.

[voidseeing]

Exactly. What better way to get things done than to pretend to be just another one of the victims?
