WEEK 3

WEEK 3

[The week begins as last week began. But there's is a great difference-murder. It has happened. Blood has been drawn; it cannot be undone. The Game has made itself known. The Game is paramount. The Game simply is.

As morning dawns, those who were not present with the DEAD lock will find that the doors that were locked are now gone-and a whole new area has finally opened up to them. They will also find that they remember something they had not been able to recall beforehand. The question is, was it worth it?

And-is it you, or is the ship getting...colder as the hours go by? No, it's not just you. By the end of Sunday, the ship has started to dip into freezing temperatures. It might be difficult for people to bundle up-unless you're Brain, who will find his closet inundated with winter clothing that fit him perfectly.

Yup. This is going to be a long week, as if last week wasn't bad enough.

jinglebros: (We were bold and young)

Call him his name. He doesn't deserve Zero.

Delta.
superstylishsquid: (It's pathetic.)

[personal profile] superstylishsquid 2023-06-25 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Names are...a big deal for demons, so yeah. Delta it is.
exequte: (you act like that was the wrong choice)

[personal profile] exequte 2023-06-25 04:50 pm (UTC)(link)
When did you find that out?
jinglebros: (Default)

[personal profile] jinglebros 2023-06-25 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
It's something you don't remember.
exequte: (it was kinda hard to kidnap everyone)

[personal profile] exequte 2023-06-25 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[She sighs, but doesn't argue. That's getting old, and real fast.]
onychomance: (I try to talk to them)

[personal profile] onychomance 2023-06-26 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Care to share with the class?
exequte: (you act like that was the wrong choice)

[personal profile] exequte 2023-06-26 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
Huh? We've all lost memories, right? But... how can I share something I don't remember...?
onychomance: (Dead girls like me)

[personal profile] onychomance 2023-06-26 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
Forgive me, I was speaking to both of you. I thought it was interesting, since the two of you have a connection, that Zero would not synchronize what memories you lost to maintain whatever illusion he hopes to have us under.

[He's also not making comments on Aoi apparently keeping secrets from his sister in a situation like this. That this is unusual behavior goes without saying.]
exequte: (well first I had to get some cash)

[personal profile] exequte 2023-06-26 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
Oh.

[Yeah, okay, that makes sense.

She shakes her head though.]

We, um.

We're... not from the same time, actually. I'm....

I don't understand how it works, but Aoi got taken from several years into the future, from my point of view, so maybe Zero--or Delta, rather--didn't think it was worth while? We're not the same physically as the last time we saw each other before coming here, after all.

So, while it is true that he knows some of the things I've forgotten, it's also true that he knows some things I haven't even learned yet. I'm not sure which category this falls into.

onychomance: (you'd never comprehend)

[personal profile] onychomance 2023-06-26 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
I see. Are you concerned that learning things about your future will cause a paradox?
exequte: (hardly anyone even died mostly sometimes)

[personal profile] exequte 2023-06-26 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. It seemed safest not to take those kinds of risks.
onychomance: (There are plenty of ways)

[personal profile] onychomance 2023-06-26 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
That's no fun at all, you two. You could always share your information on the assumption that we will defeat Zero, and then wrest his means of memory alteration before you part ways to your points of origin.

superstylishsquid: (I don't know what to make of it.)

[personal profile] superstylishsquid 2023-06-25 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
This morning. Aoi filled me in after we had some time to calm down from the trial.

[...Yeah, he was in no emotional state to handle a productive conversation last night.]
exequte: (all I did was create and run a deathtrap)

[personal profile] exequte 2023-06-25 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I think we... all needed some time after that. It was awful.
superstylishsquid: (Can we not talk about it?)

[personal profile] superstylishsquid 2023-06-25 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah...I have a soft spot for kids, so that...

[Yeah.]
exequte: (I was dead cut me some slack)

[personal profile] exequte 2023-06-25 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
And... and it wasn't right.

Maybe if it had at least been... deliberate or there had been some kind of malicious intent, but....

But there wasn't any of that. It was wrong!
superstylishsquid: (It's pathetic.)

[personal profile] superstylishsquid 2023-06-25 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah...he warned us at the beginning that accidents counted, but it's still disgusting.
exequte: (you act like that was the wrong choice)

[personal profile] exequte 2023-06-25 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm... worried now, though.

What if... what if someone fell down the stairs and... and broke their neck?

Would Zer- um... Delta.... still make us....

What if a second person wasn't even there? What would happen then?
superstylishsquid: (I don't know what to make of it.)

[personal profile] superstylishsquid 2023-06-25 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
In that case, my guess is that the victim and culprit would be the same. Their own accident killed them.
exequte: (you act like that was the wrong choice)

[personal profile] exequte 2023-06-25 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know. That... that would be the reasonable way to handle it, but since when has anything here seemed very reasonable?
superstylishsquid: (Oh yeah...)

[personal profile] superstylishsquid 2023-06-25 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
The alternative would be some arbitrary person is picked. I doubt that would be a very interesting investigation.
exequte: (all I did was create and run a deathtrap)

[personal profile] exequte 2023-06-25 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Not necessarily. Not if they tripped on something that had been placed there by someone else, or... or someone had left some kind of residue behind and that had made them lose traction, or if they'd been talking to someone beforehand and they were distracted enough to make them trip.

Someone might easily be indirectly connected to a situation like that. And if they were, what if that meant they were to blame, according to the rules here?
superstylishsquid: (Can we not talk about it?)

[personal profile] superstylishsquid 2023-06-25 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
...Yeah, I could see that. If there was someone else involved, instead of something like Ritsu tripping over her own feet because of zombie problems, the blame could fall to them.
exequte: (all I did was create and run a deathtrap)

[personal profile] exequte 2023-06-25 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes but... if that was the case, then where would the line be drawn? I don't....

It doesn't seem like we can trust things to seem... reasonable.

I get the feeling that as long as someone specific can be blamed for the cause of death, even if it was Rube Goldeberg levels of indirect, it counts.
