[When the investigation ends, the D O N G rings throughout the ship, followed by Zero's voice.]

It is time. Everyone, come to the theater. Time is...wasting.

[And so it is. The seating has once more changed to reflect the fallen-Moriarty and now Brain's podiums are draped in black. And, of course, there is no food-

The screens come up, and the mask of Zero appears, ever inscrutable. Their instructions are brief.]

Your Brain is gone, I'm afraid. Cut into pieces and cast aside...and someone here knows why. Now, it's time for you to discover the truth as well...if you can.


[The trial for the murder of Brain, the Blue, has begun.]

I don't think you need one. You've said you prefer your meat better raw, right? So even if you'd decided to eat him, you wouldn't have roasted him first.

Despite the evidence that a friend tried to take down Brain-kun, the culprit had an extremely luxurious amount of time to disperse the body parts. Therefore, we cannot believe the culprit was simply interrupted before taking advantage of the roasted leg.

True. But my point was that the leg being simply roasted would not have suggested it was Alastor who wanted to eat him.

It might have been Alastor who roasted the leg specifically because he would have preferred to eat it raw, and he could use that as an excuse, but... he didn't, right? And hoping someone else would say as much.... It does start to seem a little convoluted.

Hubert-kun is in a complicated position as well. Let's go step by step in terms of what we know for sure about the crime.

[She won't remind Akane where they learned this.]

True.

I'm not saying he wouldn't have been able to do this, just that... in the case of this piece of evidence, I don't think it... really suggests that he was the one who did.

Other evidence might. But not this one. Or, at least, no more strongly than it might suggest any of us.

[Akane won't mention that she, alone, was far too well fed these past few days to even consider turning to cannibalism, but she also does not suspect she would need to. And in any case, others could think it a double bluff on her part as well.]
