[When the investigation ends, the D O N G rings throughout the ship, followed by Zero's voice.]

It is time. Everyone, come to the theater. Time is...wasting.

[And so it is. The seating has once more changed to reflect the fallen-Moriarty and now Brain's podiums are draped in black. And, of course, there is no food-

The screens come up, and the mask of Zero appears, ever inscrutable. Their instructions are brief.]

Your Brain is gone, I'm afraid. Cut into pieces and cast aside...and someone here knows why. Now, it's time for you to discover the truth as well...if you can.


[The trial for the murder of Brain, the Blue, has begun.]

[WELP. Alastor is moving so quickly as to clearly be instinct, claws out and both sets of wings spread as he leaps to try and grab Val.]

He goes to grab her with is strength with a dash towards her-]

[Akane screams at that, Val's motion sudden and shocking, and she tries to react, she really does, but...

But she doesn't. Not fast enough. And so she goes down, and goes hard, and her head hits the floor in a burst of crimson pain before everything goes black.]

[And Hubert, knowing he can't fight on the level of the others between his lack of magic and hunger-weakness instead goes for Akane, making sure her spine hasn't been hurt before carefully pulling her head into his lap. His blade is pulled in case Val gets through, ready to go down fighting]

[ He kneels down next to them. ]

Knocked cold. But I don't think she damaged her spine! Stay back- if the others can't keep her back-

[He can't protect either of them as he is, goddessdamn him if they both get killed]

[ He's got his weapon out, standing near the both of them. ]

[He glares... but in the end holds out his long blade to him, keeping the one Gai tossed him]

[Gai tosses him another knife, small and weighted for throwing, just in case.]

[He gives Gai a sharp nod, clearly holding the second blade in his off hand like he knows what he's doing]

[Yeah, he figured you would. That's why he tossed it!]
