[So, that trial sure happened, didn't it? And on nearly empty stomachs, no less. That's why people might catch Alastor headed for the kitchen as soon as they're out of the theater, obviously intent on making food. He's in there a while, actually, and the hallway outside of it smells strongly of some rather tasty food.

What he's up to will become clear when he goes around to tell people to visit the mess hall. There, he's set up a varied buffet on one of the tables, all of various foods easy to serve in small portions. This includes small slices of beef only very lightly seared on the outside, but also more fully cooked fare, and even a few fruit and vegetable dishes. Plus the requisite spread of alcohol, because it sure has been A Day, huh?

...Also, while Hermes obviously doesn't eat, he still gets the instructions to go to the mess hall. Huh.]

[Kira gets a plate with one each of the small portioned items, showing no particular preference and eating just enough to get his energy up.

After that, he'll be spending some time in the lab, but he doesn't seem to be doing anything in particular by the time anyone else finds him in there. Brain's bracelet is lying on one of the tables, though. Maybe he's thinking about him... or just killing time until another door appears. It's hard to say.

Also Stray Cat is there because I said so. It's a nice dark room for it to nap in.]

[Would Stray Cat like some scritches?]

[Stray Cat makes the cat activation noise when Zack scritches its petals. Its eyes open. It moves in to sniff...

Kira watches this carefully, but Stray Cat is a lot more docile in the dark, so he decides it's fine. He nods to his roommate.]

Zack. How are you holding up?

[Kira is not a fighter, so he stayed out of the riot. But that thing with the plants... he's surprised Zack wants to touch another plant so soon, actually. Fortunately Stray has now lowered its head and deigned to let him scritch]

[Stray Cat is a cat that just happens to be a plant. Not whatever the hell the thing that hates them and is controlling the game is.]

...I really wish we could find another way out that doesn't involve killing.

[That is true! Stray Cat doesn't hate anyone who gives it scritches. It starts to purr.]

Is that why you keep looking back at the tree?

...Yeah. I...I kind of wonder if we even can kill that thing. And if we did, if it would allow us to escape.

Hm... that oversized weed is supposedly the driving force behind this game, so I can see why you'd think that. Though a failed attempt would only make it stronger, wouldn't it?

...I suppose that's true. But there must be some way to destroy it, right?

Oh, that other stuff is nice. I should slice my own fake cake so it's easier to eat.

[Makima reaches for extra plates and a knife. She does this in a more lethargic way than usual, slouching across the table without getting up from her chair.]

It's not bad, no. Who knew Alastor knew how to cook so many things?

[Kira pauses while chewing the random hors d'oeuvre and looking across at her 'fake cake' and other meaty treats. He tilts his head.]

You'll get sick if you eat that much.

[yesorwoof]

I'm not planning to eat it all. It's to share. But I wasn't really sure how I should go about scaling the ideas, and I didn't want to interrupt Alastor-kun for too long.

[Her food is still untouched. Her eyes rove over as Kira eats.]

Hm. [Well, Makima's cooking couldn't be that bad, he supposes. Even if the cake looks strange.] Well, I've still got room on my plate. If you have too many leftovers, you could always try giving some to Stray Cat. He's my ... pet, I suppose. Turns out Brain and Moriarty had it for some time and I didn't know.

[...Is Stray Cat cursed, he wonders? Too late now.]

Oh, I actually did see Moriarty-kun with it back when I took one of the few shirts that the "Cargo Hold" gave us. Too bad I didn't know.

[She's crushing a slice of meat cake into smaller bits with her fork and is absolutely going to "pspspspspsps" Stray Cat.]
