[So, that trial sure happened, didn't it? And on nearly empty stomachs, no less. That's why people might catch Alastor headed for the kitchen as soon as they're out of the theater, obviously intent on making food. He's in there a while, actually, and the hallway outside of it smells strongly of some rather tasty food.

What he's up to will become clear when he goes around to tell people to visit the mess hall. There, he's set up a varied buffet on one of the tables, all of various foods easy to serve in small portions. This includes small slices of beef only very lightly seared on the outside, but also more fully cooked fare, and even a few fruit and vegetable dishes. Plus the requisite spread of alcohol, because it sure has been A Day, huh?

...Also, while Hermes obviously doesn't eat, he still gets the instructions to go to the mess hall. Huh.]

[ There's a flash of a reassuring smile and a nod of his head, and he allows himself to consider the other's words. To have such a thing that came into effect only recently was unfortunately grim when one considered they were trapped on this ship. ]

If this is left unchecked... just what is going to happen to you, Gai?

[ Naturally he had a few ideas but hearing it straight from him would probably be best here. ]

[Before Roland can interject, he continues.]

Oh, not right away, but in less than a year.

[But he sounds... oddly calm about all of this.]

If I were back in Kansai, it wouldn't be a problem. I just have to hope that we find a way off this ship sooner rather than later. Of course, given what Delta said about this game, it would seem like it's going to be reaching its end soon enough...

[ Ow. That's so impossibly painful and his heart absolutely aches. He's an incredibly emotional, sympathetic person that he just brought his hand up to his mouth without even thinking about it. ]

You shouldn't have so much time of yours wasted on this ship when you have so little of it as it is!

[ For just a moment? It's entirely clear he maaaay have been moved enough to tears. ]

My dear boy! Please let me take you to visit Paris once we get out of here! It's lovely this time of year and you deserve a chance to see it!

To Paris?

[For a moment, he actually looks surprised. Being able to travel like that - to travel at all, really, beyond the trips he'd taken out of necessity to further Funeral Parlor's objectives - had always seemed like something out of a life he'd never get to have.

But things are different in Kansai, and surely it wouldn't hurt for him to take a vacation...]

... just so you know, I'm expecting the food to be as delicious as everything I've read about it.

[ Thankfully he's already perked up and Gai being agreeable to the idea certainly helped as much. So of course he's nodding and beaming brightly once again. ]

I promise that you won't be disappointed! French cuisine is absolutely exquisite, whether it's the entrées or even desserts!

[ He's almost sparkling with how excitable he's feeling about this. ]

The Eiffel Tower is absolutely stunning to see up close as well!

Just as long as you're not expecting me to walk up the stairs.

[He's joking, but. There's a bit of dark humor underlying it given his current situation.]

I've heard the view is something else, though. I'd be curious to compare it to Tokyo Tower.

[... and then he realizes that Roland probably hasn't ever heard of Tokyo Tower before. Whoops.]

Of course not! If it's needed, I am willing to carry you up!

[ The thing was that Roland was 120% serious and genuine about this. He's got enough strength in him on a good day to manage to carry someone of Gai's stature with little issue. ]

Ah? Tokyo Tower? I'm afraid I'm unfamiliar with that one.

[ In which Gai was absolutely right. He's never so much as left Paris before, though the time he comes from probably also helped contribute to that. ]
