[ Have a hand on your shoulder, Yuuri. Karma is looking rather serious right now for once. He figures seeing a dead body is not what the other wants to see right now. ]

[Yuuri just stares blankly at him for several seconds. The suspicion and fear is attempting to process through his sudden lightheadedness.]

What...? Why... Karma, what is it? What happened?

[The panic breaks through and the color drains from Yuuri’s face. He wants to deny but he can’t he can’t he can’t....]

[ He doesn't say that to be callous or mean, as he can clearly see how pale and frantic Yuuri's already looking right now. Having the other be calmer would be better than a full on freak out. ]

[Of course he won’t. If someone is dead, murdered, how could he take it? There are kids here, what if it was one of them? Could someone here actually murder a kid?

He takes a few deep breaths, forcing himself to be outwardly calmer even if he doesn’t feel it inside.]

[ Something in Karma's expression still seemed skeptical but he relented after a few moments. Either way, Yuuri would have to find out since they'd have to go through a trial for the one who'd been killed. ]

[ Something distinctly annoyed flashed over his features before that calmer one replaced it once more. ]

I had been hoping it wouldn't have been him to be the first to go.

[... is that water rushing through his ears? No, it’s blood. His heart’s pounding too hard, too fast. He’s gasping softly but it doesn’t seem to be doing anything. His scalp prickles unpleasantly and his lips feel numb, but he’s pretty sure they’re trembling. His eyes start to sting, his vision graying.]

[Wake had spoken gently to him, done just what Yuuri needed to calm his panic attack. He’d tried to help Yuuri remember where his ring came from. He was kind, warm, positive...

Dead.

Yuuri moves without thinking, shoving past Karma. He's triggered his power, the ability to move faster than the naked eye can track, and he doesn't even realize it. It’s not real, it can’t be, who would hurt someone like Wake, he refuses to believe it. But the sight of the body slumped over the tank... it’s all he sees before the darkness takes him and the rush of blood in his head grows to a roar that drowns any warnings Karma might shout.

With a whimper, Yuuri Katsuki hits the floor in a dead faint.]
