THE SECOND TRIAL

THE SECOND TRIAL

[Soon enough, once the final clues have been uncovered, the telltale DING echoes through the Mall. The elevator in the food court has opened once more, and it will not close until all of the remaining Titled have gotten in it. And, as before, a thought comes to them, the realization that they needed to get on the roof, and get to the bottom of this.

Soon enough, everyone is back on the roof, and they will find that their platform arrangement has changed to reflect those who had died since last week. The podiums of Dio, Torri, and Yuuri are each all lowered and covered with white cloths. Otherwise, everyone else's platforms also have food and drinks, just like last week.

It's probably still not much comfort, especially with what everyone knows must happen. They must look at the evidence they have gathered, and once more, they will have to figure out the truth, putting their lives on the line to do so. Hopefully, their luck will hold.

So, get ready.

The trial for the murders of Torri Feiji, The Bliss, and Yuuri Katsuki, The Future, has begun.]

There was still wet clothing at the scene of the crime. Has anyone considered that the hair dryer might not have been for the dresses, but for the culprit themselves? It would be very suspicious to be the only one to arrive to the investigation damp.

...No, I considered that. They probably didn't care about the water at the scene. Torri could make bubbles, after all.

They could have done that in the bathroom, after they cleaned themselves of blood. In that case, it would still remove the immediate danger of getting caught by anyone who left their room...particularly since they could have hidden in a stall if someone did enter.

...Hm. I'm going to make a suggestion. We were so caught up with the shoes earlier, but what about water and smoke? We never checked for that, after all. If they were present while they burned the cloth, then that would catch in their clothes, and who's to even say they successfully dried themselves off completely?

The men's bathroom has smelled of smoke before this, though. Someone either smokes or has burned something in there before so it is possible there is someone who may smell of smoke without being the culprit. Checking for water is a good idea though because it takes a long time for wet clothes to dry.

I don't think that would leave the same intensity as literally standing right over something as it burns, though. So it's something we should check anyway.

Actually, a better idea for you. Check their hair for the smell of smoke. Clothes can be changed, but hair cannot.

I was already thinking of that.

It would be easy enough to change into a different outfit after burning the messier evidence. A faint smell of smoke won't be obvious just glancing into someone's bedroom as they leave it.

They'd have to have clothes to change into to start with.

That's not all that difficult. There's a number of clothing stores, Akira's already helped me get a few new outfits, for myself.

...However, you can't change your hair.
