WEEK 3

[Once everyone has gotten out of the elevator, those who go to look for Akira and Kurama will find that they have been put into one of their rooms, together, safely tucked into bed with a glass of milk for each of them. And - aside from the bruises of being suctioned into a death cylinder and tranquilized with some very strong drugs - they are alive and unharmed.

Naturally, this means that Akira and Kurama are the first to experience the dreams, but everyone will experience them, once they finally fall asleep, for good and ill.

Despite everything, too, the survivors will find many other new things facing them as they wake up. A new evolution for their powers, a new wing...and a new rule, updated after the execution. The profiles have also been updated, to reflect the Titled's ever-dwindling numbers.

This is going to be a long week, that's for sure.

[ That-... that was such a huge effort; Akira's actually going to give a small smile. He slowly moves over to the older man. He looks drained, and clearly poured a lot of his own effort into this, to the point where he will probably just sleep super early after everything...

Anyway...

The smile isn't there, but it's clear that meant a lot. ]

[Joey offers a hand.]

It's nice to meet you properly, Coco...even if, wow, these are literally the worst circumstances. You can call my Joey from now on.

[Joey spends a chunk of the middle of the day attending the funeral and another bit with that luigi board game, but aside from that...]

[Earlier in the morning, she can be found at Touch of Fitnesse, practicing a dance routine and generally trying to work her stress from yesterday out with exercise. It's not really working, but it sure is getting her blood flowing.]

[After the funeral, if she can find a partner to tag along with, she'll explore the new 3E in general, a bit disappointed that it's just more shops, and not any she's particularly interested in. Maybe Mystery Maze Mania, but she's definitely not going into the obvious deathtrap without a partner.]

[Finally, in the evening, Joey can be found in the Food Court, staring intently at a Mr. Mew doll she bought on Monday.]

Okay...I'm "the Impossible", huh? Going to just...Frankenstein myself up a cat here. Well, you weren't alive in the first place, so it's more...Pygmalion-ing myself up a cat?

[She sighs, and carefully sets her phone up against a cup so it can record the proceedings. There's no way in heck her babysitter would ever forgive her for not recording an experiment like this.]

Here goes nothing.

[She holds the doll, closes her eyes, and imagines it coming to life. You can do anything with enough Imagination...]

[About a minute or so later, the coin moves to white.]

It shows. But the general consensus is that "I'm sorry" is a good start. [He sips lightly at his sake before shaking his head a little.]

Just be honest, Reid-san. Tell him how you feel about what happened. It's letting go of your pride to apologize in the first place that is the difficult part.

Akira-kun misses you. Everyone does.

And... I know you think nothing could have saved you, but I still believe you could do better.

I saw something the day you died. I used the time camera thing and... there was another group, some time ago.

Is there anyone else there who might have gone through the same kind of killing game as us?

[ After heading over to the weggie board, Ren spends some time checking out the stuffed animals, looking partly confused and a little wistful.

He doesn't seem to notice Joey at first, but Yuriko the Skarmory is next to him, too. ]

So say we all, I think, on the subject of further deaths. [Kurama is mulling over the letter along with the other things, expression quietly thoughtful. He picks at the not-so-coincidentally matching bandage on his own hand; he's not used to healing this slowly.

There's a lot to think about.]

We may want to get an idea of how many others are there. If it's simply someone equivalent to the Life Coach, that's one thing. But it's a very different matter if those killed before our arrival still remain, as the note Meridies-san found suggested.

Regarding this letter... I wonder if we could write back?

Nothing about the layout of this place makes sense.

[There's something he really can't help wondering about in all this... But he can't actually find out without spoiling it. Pity.]

Well, you seem to have done well enough for yourself without a model, Claire-chan. You've been coping quite impressively given your age and relative inexperience.

Perhaps when we escape? If our captors can pull us between worlds, we may be able to learn to do so of our own volition.

[That hand in Kurama's hair is far more comforting than it has any right to be. Especially when he knows exactly what Akira is doing, and why, and still isn't completely sure he approves but in public is different.

He would never try to tear Akira's masks away in public.

Kurama shudders a little, bandaged hands curling into Akira's shirt. But his voice when he speaks is steady, and burns like dry ice.]

They want us to suffer. They'll know the true meaning of the word when we're finished with them.

[ After breakfast, Ren spends most of his morning exploring the new floor. He seems fairly unimpressed with this wing, although he does stop by the smoke shop for a bit. Because he is the only smoker in this damn mall right now. You'll probably find him having a cig right then and there. He also has the plastic gacha ring from Helena's room on his pinky finger, for how ridiculous it looks.

Later, he can be found at Pagemasters, idly flipping through various books on art history and the like. The usual. He sends out this via LIME chat: ]

I've been thinking of having a little get-together in the bar later tonight. Drinks are on me, and I'll make sure you guys don't starve, either, but if anyone wants to pitch in, I'm not complaining.

I just don't want anyone to be lonely.

I could use a distraction, really. Particularly a pleasant one. I can come and help you, Sanzashi-san.

I think the only ones 'taking this well' are those with minimal attachments.

[There's a barely contained fury to Kurama that was definitely absent when Karma sparred him. The bandages on his hands look like they're going to need to be redone.]

I don't care if they're telling the truth about not being responsible. Using this threat to taunt us... It's unforgivable.

[ Some time later, Ren returns to the board, a pensive look on his face.

He doesn't ask any questions.

Instead, he uses his remaining Time Camera slot to take a picture of it, a few days before the picture he took in the trial room would have occurred. ]

...Hey. I'm probably... One of the last people you want to hear from. But I wanted to apologize. ...Especially for my outburst at the trial. ...Ursula--Chariot and I have... Been on rough terms before. The way you talked to her... Reminded me of a confrontation we had that ended badly. I didn't think. I just attacked...

[ ...Croix will sigh, looking down and away. ]

...I guess for someone so smart, I don't think things through a lot. ...Anyway, the point is... I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said those things to you. I almost even said something worse, too. ...I don't expect forgiveness.

[ She is genuinely sorry, at least? ...But Croix that's not a question. ]

[ The coin stays in place for maybe 20 seconds, then slowly moves to RED. ]

...That's all right. ...I will say, you were brave. ...Perhaps braver than me. No... Definitely braver than me. I've made a lot of mistakes. ...I'm continuing to make them, even.

[ A deep breath. She hardens her resolve. ]

...But I'm going to make a promise. I'll do everything in my power to get as many people out of here alive. ...Maybe... That'll even include you. And if I manage, we can talk better then, yeah?

[ This time, the coin only takes two seconds before it moves. WHITE. ]

...Thanks, Helena. See you later. I... I have to go help prepare a funeral. That's all I wanted to say. ...Take care of yourself over there.

[ She's not going to wait for a response. Even though she's only used a couple of questions, she's ending the session. She mostly just. Wanted to apologize. ]

There is a second of warmth, followed by....something poking her. When she opens her eyes, well...

A very much moving Mr. Mew is in front of her, staring at her.]

This is almost too much power for one person. In my world you can only get this cool with a badass car.

[Do you have a speech to give, Joey? Any you may give is bound to be better organized than Britt's, at least]
