WEEK 3

[Once everyone has gotten out of the elevator, those who go to look for Akira and Kurama will find that they have been put into one of their rooms, together, safely tucked into bed with a glass of milk for each of them. And - aside from the bruises of being suctioned into a death cylinder and tranquilized with some very strong drugs - they are alive and unharmed.

Naturally, this means that Akira and Kurama are the first to experience the dreams, but everyone will experience them, once they finally fall asleep, for good and ill.

Despite everything, too, the survivors will find many other new things facing them as they wake up. A new evolution for their powers, a new wing...and a new rule, updated after the execution. The profiles have also been updated, to reflect the Titled's ever-dwindling numbers.

This is going to be a long week, that's for sure.

THROUGHOUT THE WEEK

[If anyone investigates the toy store, they will find on one of the tables inside is a board game that's been left out of the box (and in fact the box is nowhere to be found.) However, the board looks like this. As you can see, it comes with a special coin... the instructions nearby will tell your characters that this is a game about talking to spirits. You just put a coin on the board, ask your question, and the spirit will move the coin to the appropriate area of their response:

WHITE means Yes.
BLACK means No.
RED means Neither yes nor no.

Sounds fun, right? However, there is one catch. Each session of the game can only last for 7 questions. The coin stops moving after that, no matter what! So you might want to take turns with this one...]

[ Ursula will definitely take the chance to play with the game on Monday. In fact, she stares it down in deep contemplation, before deciding to take the plunge. The first question is simple: ]

Um... is anyone here?

[socknadoes]

[After a few moments, the coin begins to move, until it lands on white.]

[ ... Okay. Good. Time to try something harder. She exhales. ]

... Is it anyone I know?

[ After all, how far-fetched would it be for Torri, Wake, or Akechi to communicate as ghosts? She's a witch. It doesn't seem that odd to her. But she does sort of think it's a dumb question to ask, and admittedly isn't... expecting much. ]

Sunday Evening

[ Listen, Croix is going to look into this. She'll smile a bit, and, almost jokingly: ]

You're not going to leap out and possess me if I use you, are you?

[ No she's not taking this seriously at all, even if she is playing with it. ]

[It takes a few moments, but the coin slides to black.]

[ For once? He's hesitating to do something. But... Monday evening, after dinner, after setting the coin down on the board, he's found himself staring a figurative hole through the board.

... Well... time to follow process of elimination... ]

Did you die last week?

[ And if it isn't Torri, Yuuri, or Goro... it'll have to be those who died the week before last -- Wake or Dio -- ... right?

... If this thing is even being honest, that is. ]

[There's no hesitation this time. The coin immediately slides to white.]

... this couldn't get any less convenient.

[ That's Helena's final verdict after reviewing the game instructions for herself. Maybe it's a harsh judgement given that this way of communication's whole existence is nothing short from miraculous. Still, she has more complicated questions to ask than yes/no can answer and it doesn't sit right with her that she has to use up questions to establish who is even on the other end.

She can only hope the ghosts have some sort of coordination and common sense. Maybe that'll allow her 5 proper questions after all. She clears her throat and sighs, only then she'll actually address the board. ]

Can I speak to Dio?

[She'll have to wait almost two minutes before the coin moves at all - but then it slides across the board like a bolt of lightning.]

[ Well, here goes nothing. On Tuesday after the motive, he heads on over to the weggie board. ]

Let's start off easy: is this anyone I know?

[It takes a little while, but the coin slowly slides to white.]

Early Wednesday Morning

[ She's up super early because she has a lot of shopping to do, and she wanted to get this done. ]

...Helena, are you there?

[ It takes a while for the coin to start moving, then it lands on WHITE. ]

Wednesday

...this is stupid.

[Dead people can't talk, can they? Everyone else seems to believe it, though...maybe she should have gone through with her whole walkie-talkie necromancy thought back at the house.]

Okay. Let's...I'm not gonna waste your time. I just want to offer a blanket apology first. I'm sorry whoever is listening is dead. Any and all of you. If I didn't try to save you...it's not because I didn't want to, okay?

[This is definitely wasting their time.]

Anyway...does the name "Kana-chan" mean anything to you guys?

[About a minute or so later, the coin moves to white.]

[ Some time later, Ren returns to the board, a pensive look on his face.

He doesn't ask any questions.

Instead, he uses his remaining Time Camera slot to take a picture of it, a few days before the picture he took in the trial room would have occurred. ]

[There is a woman with the bottom half of her face visible, standing over the board, looking down at it.

There is also someone else's hand in the shot, but it's blurry.]

[They're still working out all of the 'official' questions they want to ask, but...

As guilty as he feels about wasting them, Kurama has a couple of personal questions to ask.]

I'd like to speak with Goro. I'm not going to bother questioning to confirm identity since I can hardly prove anything should someone decide to lie. But I would appreciate it if no one did as these first questions are personal in nature.

[He's going to give it a minute since he isn't inclined to assume the dead have nothing better to do than haunt this board. Though he'd guess haunting Akira would be Goro's first priority anyway...]

Goro... Are you aware of what happened between me and Akira after your trial?

[It takes a moment before the coin slides to rest on white.]
