[As people wake up in the morning after last night's party, and exit their rooms, they will hear something...unusual as they get closer to Yotsukoshi's entrance.

Inhuman screeching.

It actually sounds like an animal of some kind...]

[The first big thing is that Ren's skin is pinker than it should be, despite clearly being dead for awhile.]

[Yeah, that is definitely off. The lack of wounds also means it must have been ingested. Is there any food nearby that could be poisoned?]

[Aside from a drink, there is no other food or drink near Ren.]

[Loewe will take note of the fact that the drink is alcoholic though. So he'll go ahead and move Ren enough to see his face. Loewe will first take a look at Ren's mouth. Any apparent signs of poison there?]

[Yes.

Ren's lips are cherry red...and there is a strange, bitter odor on his breath, mixed with smoker's breath.]

[Also noted, though most poisons are bitter tasting. Sadly Loewe's knowledge is also more geared towards poisons from natural compounds so it may end up being beyond him but at the very least he may as well figure out what symptoms it caused so they can narrow it down. Next he'll take a look at Ren's eyes. Anything of note here?]

[They are dilated, and blank. And dead.

Aside from the pinker skin, nothing else of note.]

[And Loewe will be sure to go ahead and close them again. Sorry Ren, but he wants to find who did this and how even if his knowledge of poison is going to make him a potential suspect. So next he'll go ahead and take a closer look into Ren's mouth and just get the most potentially gross part out of the way. Any signs of vomiting here?]

[No. There may be some blood, and drool, but no vomiting.]

[Gross part out of the way, he'll go ahead and move Ren enough to allow for a good look at the man's clothing. First, just an overall look. How clean is his clothing? Any blood or anything else unusual on the clothing itself?]

[No. His clothing is clean.]

[Then next Loewe will go ahead and check any pockets. For one, he wants to see if Ren's cell phone went missing, and for another to see if there might be anything else that could be a clue.]

[Ren's phone is right where it is.

However, Loewe will find a pack of cigarettes in one of his pockets.]

[Not too weird since it's pretty well known that Ren is a smoker. But let's take a closer look. Is the pack opened or still sealed? Also, what brand are they?]

[They are the brand Ren uses. It's opened, with a few of the cigarettes already used.

However, there is also a smell coming from some of the remaining cigarettes as well.]

[So what sort of smell is coming from them? Bitter maybe?]

[strangerpeople]

[Bitter, indeed..

The other cigarettes don't smell like anything other than normal cigarettes.]

[He'll go ahead and separate out the bitter smelling cigarettes. How many are there and do they look different from the non-bitter smelling ones?]

[There are less than a full pack of cigarettes left, but of those, half are normal, while the other half smell off.

If there are differences, it's very difficult to tell.]

[He's going to grab a napkin or something to wrap the bitter cigarettes in and maybe before the trial he can find something to get a better look at them. Still, it seems weird to have a smell besides tobacco on them, so this may be how Ren ingested the poison or it could be planted. The rest of the cigarettes he'll leave in the pack but also wrap up so they don't fall out. Anything else in Ren's pockets? He'd need to have a lighter or matches to even light the cigarettes at least.]

[No lighter, but maybe it's somewhere nearby?]

[Well, if there is nothing else in Ren's pockets then that's probably it for the body. So yeah, let's look for that lighter.]

[It's right next to the ashtray. Which has two cigarettes in it.]

[Are the cigarettes smoked fully or partially? Also, do they smell bitter too?]

[strangerpeople]

[One looks halfway to mostly smoked, and has the bitter smell on it.

The other is new, barely lit and does not have the smell.]
