THE THIRD TRIAL

[It happens again, like clockwork. Once the final clues have happened, the elevator in the food court opens with a DING. It doesn't leave until everyone has gotten on, and the thought occurs to everyone that they shouldn't waste time.

An innocent man was ruthlessly murdered, after all. After everything that's happened.

Just as before, everyone who is still alive will find their favorite food and drink at their platform. And just as before, Akechi, Helena and Ren's platforms have now been lowered and covered with a white cloth, joining the increasing number of dead spaces in the trial area. Helena's platform, however, has an addition not present on any other deceased's platform: a single white lily, placed almost reverently on top.

Well. Whatever reason that lily is there, it shouldn't detract from the fact that there is a trial to be had here, once more. Its time to look at the evidence at hand, and to hopefully find whoever did this heinous crime.

So, it's time, Titled.

[ OKAY... so this is a lot for everyone to process, right?

Well... there's still a murder to solve. He's going to be standing and projecting his voice loud enough to make it easy for him to be heard. ]

Well, now that we know, for sure, which evidence was planted...

[ A deep breath. ]

We need to re-examine this case from the top with the newest information in mind. We know who it wasn't, but that still doesn't tell us who did this.

[ Ursula looks at Croix, then at Coco... and then nods to herself. She's a little shaky. She's... gonna take a sip of her iced tea. She needs it. Then, she's going to turn to everyone in the room, Akira included. ]

Okay. In light of everything we've just found out... since you think we should re-examine, I think it would be pertinent to split into groups and check each other's scents. Have the women look after the women, the men check the men.

Is that agreeable? I mean, I don't think we'll need to strip. It's a pretty strong scent we're looking for. Only if we don't find anything... well, we'll go from there to figure out what to do next. It's worth a try.

[ For what it's worth, Croix is clear. ]

[ Ursula is clear. She smells more of potion fog than anything else, which I can only describe as "honey with a mix of raw eggs". ]

[Kurama mostly smells like roses with a hint of mint.]

What else would be there be underneath that "mostly" bit? ]

[ His face will probably give him away for anyone paying close attention, in how his expression dims. ]

[ Her expression says it all. "Please, no." ]

[ He takes a deep breath. ]

All right. Let's figure out how we're gonna stop this.

[ Turning to Ursula. ]

I found who we're gonna do everything in our power to save. No more death.

[ So while they plan, Croix is going to look trough her phone for anything that might be useful to stop this. They made he fabricator, maybe she can make them regret giving her that power. ]

You said when you two agreed to be partners, you felt power, right? There's an even amount of us, if we take Coco out of the equation. If all of us partner up somehow... would we be able to do something? With our powers?

Well, I like this idea way better than stripping...

[Joey once again obviously missed a shower this morning, but since she didn't handle most of the evidence, the only distinct smell on her is a whiff of Johnnie Walker from taste-testing the whiskey evidence.]

I know, but the only place we smelled poison was the cigarettes and the aspirin bottle...

Hey. You know what? I just remembered that the aspirin bottle smelled kinda flowery. Was it apples or apple blossoms that they got the cyanide from?

It was their seeds, actually. Apple seeds, and apricot seeds, to be specific.

So the flower smell wouldn't have come from that...

[The only smells present on Loewe are any he picked up from investigating the body. Otherwise he's clear.]

Something that bothers me... That tube. It's clear they probably rolled the cigarettes in the cafe, so why was that there? Does anyone have it?

The aspirin tube, right? Who found that? Wasn't it Joey and Shuu... Kurama?

Yeah, they found it. I remember Joey seemed to think maybe it was Ren's and his medicine had been poisoned, but I really think it was something used to carry the poison.
