THE FIRST VICTIM

[Friday morning is quiet enough.

Everything seems to be normal, as before. Normal and boring, even with the strange things happening around the Depths. After all, no one's killed yet. Why would they? Surely something as ridiculous as a weird fruit and a fleeting promise wouldn't provoke anyone to kill to see if something like that was actually true, right?

Right?

Still, if anyone was worried, they would at least feel justified at being tense. People were told to kill another in return for the safety and life of a loved one, after all. And it included a way out for someone who succeeded in getting away with it. There may be someone more than willing to kill for that chance.

And that's when you don't consider the two empty rooms, one of which was opened and resulted in more strange things happening. And what happened last week? It hasn't been solved, has it? And no one expected that.




Perhaps it's a thought to look around to make sure there's nothing off this morning.

Certainly, it couldn't hurt.]

[ Well considering Mags basically lives here since it opened...

He's by the waterfall, water always soothes him, even though he can't hear it, the way he would normally. Is there anything along the banks to see? ]

[There is a pile of something right by the waterfall.]

[ Welp, he's going to walk over carefully and see what it is. Maybe poke through it, depending. What is there to see? ]

[strangerpeople]

[It's a set of clothing, crumpled, cold and wet, and still in the water.]

[ Huh.

He'll go through them carefully, looking for stains or tears or other signs of why it has been discarded. He'll also check for anything in pockets or hidden compartments as well as trying to work out if he's seen anyone in these ]

[There's no hidden pockets or compartments, and like this its difficult to discern who would have worn it.

However, there is a sizable tear on the end of one of the sleeves.]

[ Maglor fingers the tear thoughtfully, trying to discern if it looks torn or cut, and if all the pieces are intact ]

[It definitely looks like it's a cut.

The rest of the clothing in the pile is intact. Anything else?]

[ He'll check the water and the ground near where he found the pile then, looking for any tracks or traces of who might have dumped them, or even if there is anything else in the water ]

[There's not much else, except for wet, dragged footprints by where the dirt ends and the water begins.]

[bythewaves]

[ That's interesting, do the footprints look like they belong to more than one person? Or maybe that one person was dragging something (someone) heavy? ]

[strangerpeople]

[No and no.]

[bythewaves]

[ Hm. Then are the footprints coming from or going to the water? And can he follow them? ]

[strangerpeople]

[There are prints going to and from the water.

You'll probably run into Futaba or McBurn depending on which set you follow.]

[ He considers then goes down to the water. Who is he going to encounter? ]
