WEEK 1
[Well, this is...happening. This is a thing. This is your life now. The Commander is expecting you to just up and kill one another, and then try to get away with it. No big deal, right? You guys can handle this. You won't fall for what she has. She's clearly an idiot. A loud idiot, but still an idiot. She's not going to get one over you.
...Right?
In any case, the Commander's quarters are now open for anyone who decides they can actually stand to be in the same room as her, but beware - any favor you might ask of her is going to come at a price, and who knows what she'll ask you to do if you decide to gain a boon from her. Unless you're a suck-up like Baku - then she'll apparently be flattered. Maybe that's a good tactic to use?
Whatever you do, try not to murder the bread again. The Bread Did Nothing Wrong.
There are fifteen strangers in this place.]

Okay, Akira.
It's not long after that, he can be found in the Weapons Storage, seemingly playing around with a dagger. He twirls one in his hand a couple of times before putting it back, and then looking around at some of the other weapons and various other things. His hand brushes over some of the various supplies, his brow tense.
He makes his way to the Computer Room at some point, only to get bored quickly. After that, he's heading over to the Commander's Room to glare at the door for a moment. A shower in exchange for a favor... Ugh.
There's a moment where he explores the Furnace and the Winery, in that order. Clearly, he's not too interested with the things in these places. So, it's not long before he ends his exploration by heading over to the Library; he can be found sitting in a corner, knees drawn to his chest with the book sitting on them.
Maybe it'll be clear he's doing more staring through the book than actually reading it... ]
Library
[Barbara was originally going to read a book so she wouldn't think about yesterday, but then she saw this guy staring at a book in the corner. Realizing that she hadn't talked to him yet, she figured; why not talk to him now?]
no subject
So good, I apparently managed to get lost in thought over it.
[ Which isn't even remotely the truth, even if his expression and tone aren't giving any of that away. ]
no subject
[Even if it's not that good she just might read it anyway. Any book might be better than thinking about their current situation.]
no subject
[ Yep... it's a book on random dog facts. He holds it up so she can see the cover - there's a picture of a Very Good Dog there. ]
no subject
Really? What's it look like nowadays?
[She sits down as she says that, wanting to get a better look at the Super Good Boy.]
no subject
[ He twists a strand of his bangs. ]
They're... [ annnnd he's literally drawing smaller, even more triangular ears over his own head ] ... cuter? Much fluffier. Plus, the reddish brown and white merge together, rather than... standing apart so much as two different colors? They're not outright spotted-looking, like in that picture.
[ It's the best he can do to explain, and he hopes it makes sense! ]
no subject
So what you're saying is, they got even better?
[Cause let's be real all dogs are good and they can only go up from there.]
no subject
Then he can't help giving a quiet laugh as he nods. ]
Exactly.

kitchen
Freeze-dried scrambled eggs, toast (proper burning of bread achieved!), and...some kind of meat in gravy from a can of rations makes for an acceptable breakfast, and he offers one meal to Akira. Of note, there's also a small package of some sort of ration on the side of the plate.]
Here.
no subject
Oh...
[ ... But of course he can't just turn his nose up at a meal someone went out of their way to make him. He gives a small, sheepish smile. He'll speak as he takes a moment to examine the package that's to the side? ]
Thanks...
no subject
Going hungry isn't going to do any good.
no subject
I have a little trouble finding an appetite in places like this. [ a small smile ] But... thank you.
[ And he's going to try eating! He's taking small bites. ]
no subject
It's not much, but I at least know my way around military rations and space food. They're better than the stereotype.
no subject
Yeah, I'm actually a little surprised at how this tastes. You did a really good job with it.
no subject
[Aw shucks.]
no subject
Still... I'm sure there are plenty of ways these things could be done wrong.

[Apparently someone was looking for something and has jumped for joy upon finding it! Just doing a little jig to themselves that taps all over this area of the weapon storage and - oh! Not being a very tall woman, she has only just now gotten a glimpse over all the shelves and caught sight of Akira. She waves~!!]
Hey! You, like, looking for something?
no subject
Mainly just curious about what kinds of things were in here.
[ The smile doesn't quite fall, though it fades a little into something reminiscent, edging towards bittersweet. ]
I only have a little experience with a dagger, since I used one to take down a lot of bad guys, back home.

[Her arms dangle with the weight of whatever she's holding as she stops raising it up to focus more on listening to the young man.]
That's a lot of work, huh!
no subject
... Well, she managed to earn a small, amused smile, at least? ]
Not exactly. It was more of a... one-day-at-a-time, one-fight-at-a-time deal.

It wasn't easy doing that while working several part-time jobs and going to school, but I'd like to think I managed pretty well.
no subject
You make it sound like it's not a thing anymore? I'm happy for you.
no subject
Yeah, it's nice that my friends and I can breathe after everything we went through.
