[Well, this is...happening. This is a thing. This is your life now. The Commander is expecting you to just up and kill one another, and then try to get away with it. No big deal, right? You guys can handle this. You won't fall for what she has. She's clearly an idiot. A loud idiot, but still an idiot. She's not going to get one over you.

...Right?

In any case, the Commander's quarters are now open for anyone who decides they can actually stand to be in the same room as her, but beware - any favor you might ask of her is going to come at a price, and who knows what she'll ask you to do if you decide to gain a boon from her. Unless you're a suck-up like Baku - then she'll apparently be flattered. Maybe that's a good tactic to use?


Whatever you do, try not to murder the bread again. The Bread Did Nothing Wrong.

[Well, there are a few books that look to be put away wrong - for example, spine first, or sideways - already, despite you obviously having only been awake for...what, not even 72 hours?

Then again, there are a lot of books, so maybe someone wanted to have a way of finding a book they really really liked?]

He's gonna pick them up to put them right if nothing else, but of course he'll see what they are first. They might be useful to him, and then he can hoard them.]

Hey! Paris! But what is that weird giant triangle thing on the cover?]

[Hell if he knows, is it the illuminati?

This title seems rather simplistic though. And Paris... it's been a while since he's been there, but does it even look like he would recognize it.]

[Some bits? He'd recognize Notre Dame, at least one building of the Sorbonne, and La Conciergerie, but otherwise, it's a much bigger city than he remembers it, just by going through the pages. A lot of places are outright gone or so different to be unrecognizable - like the Louvre? It's an art museum now.

Speaking of that, someone has ear-marked that page and circled the information about the Louvre with a flaky blue pastel of some kind.]

[Well this is surreal!! Even though he had the Rose Duelist go to France for a while, he never asked about the Louvre. The passage of time is truly so fascinating.

He's squinting at the pastel now. Both because he disapproves and because whatever was circled must be important.]

[The Louvre, one of the world's greatest art museums, and home to the world's greatest painting, the Mona Lisa. With such other famous pieces such as Hammurabi's Code, the works of Napoleon-era artists Ingres and David, and the Venus de Milo, this is a place that cannot be ignored if you should ever come to Paris!

Just that someone named Da Vinci painted her, nothing else. Apparently this portrait is so famous that you don't even need to be told what it is to know what it is.

Other than that, there's nothing else on this page of note. There are other ear-marked pages in the book, though.]

Anyways, the next one is of that giant metal triangle-looking structure, which seems to dominate the skyline. Its caption is also circled:

The Eiffel Tower. Created for the World's Far in 1889, it is considered one of the modern wonders of the world. Go up to the observation deck for a bird-eye view of the city, and if you can, sample a classic French lunch at the restaurant on deck as well! Come early - the lines here get long!]

[Huh, so it's a tower.... from 400+ years in the future, but more importantly, why are all of these things circled? Are they planning a tour? He won't dwell too long on this one since there are still more pages. He'll just keep flipping through them.]

They have also circled a beautiful palace called Versailles, a place that sells cream-filled puffed pastry sandwiches, and a weird kiosk obelisk near Norte-Dame called D-World Passport Paris. You get a special passport stamped there apparently.]

[He will look more closely at D-World. What does the D stand for, is it dragons?? If not, it should be.]

[It doesn't say, save that D-World represents "the greatest animation studio in the world".]

[This book isn't saying, sorry. But that also seems to be it for that book.

[Mystifying. You're darn right he wants to keep book diving, though. And considering they're defaced anyway, he might as well plan to take them with him for closer examination. So what's the next one?]

[Well, here's another one, about a place called Antarctica. Again, a place he has never heard before!]

[A continent of ice?? Does this even really exist. Well, he'll crack it open.]

[Not just a continent of ice, but a desert continent of ice. Crazy, right?

Though the primary thing marked off here involves some kind of weird-looking upright bird called a "penguin".]

[That's not a bird. It's an aqua type monster!! Now he knows what kind of deck this book-defiler runs, excellent.

Is there anything else that seems important about these penguins, or should he move on?]

[Basically not to approach them too closely, and not to feed them when you visit Antarctica. Otherwise, there's not much else in this book to look at other than...well, it's Antarctica. Ice desert.]

[Hmm. Apparently they really are birds. What does it mean....

The ice desert is interesting for sure and he'll probably read more of this later but let's move on. Next!]

[~It is a mystery~

This next one is super tattered and ready to fall apart, like someone had read it repeatedly. It's a fiction book about a group of rodent-like creatures who are experimented on by humans and, as a result, become unexpectedly hyper-intelligent and long-lived. They live in secret from humans, at least until a young boy befriends a girl-child from the group. Then they go on adventures and the scientists want to take a look at the girl-child and bla bla bla.

It's probably boring for Rosie because it doesn't have ice deserts in it.]
