WEEK 2

WEEK 2

[A week has passed. There's been no body, no investigation, no trial. No deaths. Congratulations!

Now the question is, will it last? At the moment, the Commander seems content with forcing people to do petty and mean-spirited errands in return for a mere shower. On the one hand, it's just for showers. On the other hand, what if the demands start to get more extreme? Would caving in encourage her? Is anyone willing to try and find out?

Honesty, with all the strange dates and information floating around from what's been uncovered, the only one in this place who's probably not worried as the time slips into its next movement is Sir Riprazor McRockfang. That's right, he's a sir. A grumpy sir, yes, but still a sir. No one's going to mess with him, regardless of what his true origins may be. And if they do, beware - he bites. Omnom. Good luck, everyone.

There are fifteen strangers - and one alligator - in this place.]

It's quite a shame the God of your world thinks that of people though. So different from my own world where we have a Goddess who does want people to make their own choices.

A goddess? Is she just a singular goddess, or a goddess of something specific?

Singular. Her name is Aidios. On Zemuria nearly everyone follows the Septian Church that worships her. There are a few places where other things are worshiped, like some places worship ancestors as well and the nomads of Nord revere the wind. The Septian Church is also a source of basic education for children through Sunday school and makes medicines to heal the sick.

[That name... is a little on the nose, but okay.]

Does the church go after those who do not worship her?

They do not unless they openly cause problems with that lack of belief and normal means of law enforcement fail. They also tolerate other beliefs alongside believing in her.

That's good. The God that rules my world at this point is... He and his followers are not quite so tolerant of nonbelievers. There's even schisms in the belief system that follows Him.

I cannot even imagine that. Political disagreements and wars over that are bad enough. Why add disagreements about beliefs in their God?
crouching_sin: (stop breeding you idiots)

... Because people are petty and awful in so many ways. They can't stand a belief different from theirs - humans have always had trouble accepting those from 'outside' their 'tribe'.

Which means the fact that our Church is so tolerant would sound strange to you since we definitely have disagreements. Erebonia has a lot of political struggles. We just had a war end that was based on the struggles of nobility vs. commoners. There was also a neutral faction that didn't agree with either side and just wanted to end the war without any further causalities.

I'm guessing neither side was very fond of that third side. And given history... that sort of war isn't all that surprising to me, even in my world.
