WEEK 2

WEEK 2

[A week has passed. There's been no body, no investigation, no trial. No deaths. Congratulations!

Now the question is, will it last? At the moment, the Commander seems content with forcing people to do petty and mean-spirited errands in return for a mere shower. On the one hand, it's just for showers. On the other hand, what if the demands start to get more extreme? Would caving in encourage her? Is anyone willing to try and find out?

Honesty, with all the strange dates and information floating around from what's been uncovered, the only one in this place who's probably not worried as the time slips into its next movement is Sir Riprazor McRockfang. That's right, he's a sir. A grumpy sir, yes, but still a sir. No one's going to mess with him, regardless of what his true origins may be. And if they do, beware - he bites. Omnom. Good luck, everyone.

There are fifteen strangers - and one alligator - in this place.]

Or maybe you may want some for yourself, if you like sweets.

None of us like sweets that much... Karma-kun does, but only if he's stealing from sensei... Ritsu-chan doesn't even eat.

That's surprising. I'd have thought all boys your age liked sweets.

I don't dislike them, but I don't need to know every sweets shop in a big city like Kyoto.

True, that might be a bit too much. So how big is Kyoto? Is it so big that you need trams to get around like in Heimdallr?

I don't know how big Heimdallr is... [And here he looks into the big book for checking facts.] But Kyoto covers a ground area of about 828 square kilometers and has a population of one and a half million people.

I don't know how large that is, but Heimdallr is the largest city in Erebonia and has eight hundred thousand people. So almost half of what Kyoto has then.

Japan's not a big country, and most of it is uninhabitable, so comparatively it's not a huge ground area by a long shot...but it's got the third largest population in the country, and the most populated city in the country is the most populated city in the entire world.

I couldn't even say if Erebonia is the largest in the world. We don't even know much about eastern Zemuria, much less continents outside of it. Of the places we do know, Erebonia is the largest. But there are places that are difficult to inhabit and if you ride on a train or airship to another city there's nothing but wide open space between them.

Sounds like how the world used to be, maybe as few as a hundred years ago... Now almost everywhere is connected to almost everywhere else and there are maps of the whole world.

Well, it isn't like we lack the ability to travel further. There just is little reason to when we have enough problems just among our nations.
theserpentsmiles: (I won't be pushed around)

I'm surprised no one is going because there are 'enough' problems. You know, to escape - 'fly to others that we know not of'.

I guess you wouldn't have the internet, either, at this point. Though that's less for travel and more for information exchange.
