WEEK 1

WEEK 1

[Awaken.

Fifteen strangers have been gathered to the Depths.

When the strangers awaken, they will feel nauseous in their stomachs. No doubt confused. Maybe a little sick, Perhaps, even terrified. And certainly, there is a good reason for it - they are not where they were before. If they had powers back where they came from, they seem to be all gone. And it appears that someone has left...guidelines for them. All of them addressed to a specific Title.

Their Title. Somehow, each person knows, upon seeing this, this is their Title, even if it seems to make no sense whatsoever. And its clear that whoever wrote these things knew it as well. Who was it?

Its uncertain. So far, there seems to be no one else save for them, and those who dare to venture out of their rooms - save, for some reason, the individuals in rooms 1, 8 and 7 - in this hot and stuffy place. No...'intercessor' to be seen yet, certainly. No outward signs that there's anyone else aside from the people with 'Titles'.

So, Titled: welcome.

There are fifteen strangers in this place.]

"I was the other night, briefly. I wanted to see if the kitchen truly is closed after curfew. Sadly, the letters don't seem to be lying about that."

Yes, Yusuke was hungry. He's always hungry.

"I didn't see anyone, though."
carries_war: (Rubedo-Not again...)

[personal profile] carries_war 2017-05-21 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
That makes it harder to hide from everyone, unless the people who left this stuff don't need to eat. They could have snuck into the kitchen while we were talking to the Intercessor on the second day, but aside from the fruits and vegetables, everything in the kitchen would go bad pretty fast.
pursuitofbeauty: (evening calm / neutral)

[personal profile] pursuitofbeauty 2017-05-21 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
"Perhaps they have another source of food in their rooms? We have no idea what's in the locked areas, so for all we know there could be cold storage behind those doors. We only assume they're rooms to match ours due to their being mixed in among our rooms."

It's a stretch, but a lot of other things here don't make much sense either.
carries_war: (Rubedo-Not again...)

[personal profile] carries_war 2017-05-21 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
Or maybe they're getting special treatment. The kitchen isn't cold either, so they've gotta be replacing the meat every night. If there's someone else here, maybe they're getting food delivered to them already cooked.
pursuitofbeauty: (red vineyard / glance)

"I must admit, I'll be rather annoyed if that's the case. I don't mind preparing and eating meat, but not if it means carving it off a raw carcass."

It's just not beautiful, and it pings something uneasy inside Yusuke. Maybe that something is another thing he's forgotten.

carries_war: (Rubedo-You mean it?)

[personal profile] carries_war 2017-05-21 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, yeah, most humans have something against getting all bloody, don't they? I could help you cut it up, if you want.

But back on topic, I asked the Intercessor a lot of questions a few days ago. They're not actually on the same side as the people who brought us here, so if I was them, I'd definitely have someone here spying to make sure they behaved. It's only natural that someone like that would get things the rest of us don't.
poorlovefool: (gasp)

[personal profile] poorlovefool 2017-05-21 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
A spy? You think there's... people spying on us from those other rooms?

[Wow, way to make him even more nervous.]

Maybe there are hidden cameras around here!
carries_war: (Rubedo-Not again...)

[personal profile] carries_war 2017-05-21 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
Probably not cameras. I don't think they have that kind of technology here. But if you were in charge of a prison and the warden was someone who was only cooperating because you were making them, wouldn't you want someone you knew you could trust keeping an eye on things?
poorlovefool: (4)

[personal profile] poorlovefool 2017-05-21 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
But if they don't have cameras, how can they keep an eye on us without ever coming out of their rooms? I think the whole medieval setup is fake, anyway. [TIME TRAVEL ISN'T REAL, thought the Zero Escape]
carries_war: (Rubedo-Not again...)

[personal profile] carries_war 2017-05-21 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
The same way they make it so we can read any language they give us something in, I guess. Telepathic abilities can do a lot.
poorlovefool: (head tilt)

[personal profile] poorlovefool 2017-05-21 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
Uh... What are you talking about?

[TELEPATHY ISN'T REAL EITHER, thought the Zero Escape some more.]
carries_war: (Rubedo-You mean it?)

[personal profile] carries_war 2017-05-21 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
I took a look at the books in the Intercessor's study. I couldn't read most of them at first, but each time I blinked or looked away and back again, I could read more languages. I showed them to other people, too, and they couldn't read the languages until they saw the book, then they could read and write it perfectly.
poorlovefool: (friendly)

[personal profile] poorlovefool 2017-05-21 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
[Wow, what a load of bull that he is totally going to check later because it actually sounds cool what the heck.]

...Anyway, we just need to figure out what's up with those shut-in guys, right?

[personal profile] carries_war 2017-05-21 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
We'd get in trouble if we broke the doors down...I wonder if we could find something to pick the locks with.
poorlovefool: (pleased)

[personal profile] poorlovefool 2017-05-21 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
Do you actually know how to pick a lock? They do have sewing needles.

[He's got one with him, in fact. It can't be that different from using a bobby pin, which he's pretty sure is what Nancy Drew uses.]
carries_war: (Rubedo-You mean it?)

[personal profile] carries_war 2017-05-21 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
Nothing this old fashioned, but someone here might be able to.
zephyranthe: (Dunno what else to say.)

[personal profile] zephyranthe 2017-05-21 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
If we can't get them open, we can always barricade them too.

[If we're going the full paranoia route, anyways.]
poorlovefool: (3)

[personal profile] poorlovefool 2017-05-21 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
Umm... should we?

[Eric pauses, chewing on his thumbnail for a moment.]

I-I mean, they could be the culprits here, and either way I don't like them sneaking around at night, but what if you become responsible for starving them to death? Or something...
zephyranthe: (Looks like something's there.)

[personal profile] zephyranthe 2017-05-21 07:00 am (UTC)(link)
You can last two months or so without food. And if they're that thirsty, they can drink out of the toilet.

[Survival skills 101 here!!]

'Sides, they'd probably make some noise if they're that desperate to get out. Least we'd know if there's someone there or not.

Really? I haven't been able to read anything here.
carries_war: (Rubedo-Not again...)

[personal profile] carries_war 2017-05-21 05:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Have you looked at any of the books in the study?
kiddefender: (7)

[personal profile] kiddefender 2017-05-21 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I've only tried to read the letters so far. I figured if they were too complicated, then a book would be worse.
carries_war: (Rubedo-You mean it?)

[personal profile] carries_war 2017-05-21 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you normally have trouble reading?
kiddefender: (15)

[personal profile] kiddefender 2017-05-22 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't really read. I'd only been learning for a few months before the wave happened.
