WEEK 2

[The new week comes.

Those who have eaten the offered food from the Stewards will find themselves much more refreshed and energetic. They will also find their need for food is practically nonexistent for the rest of the week. However, that may not be the only side effect of their sustenance they might find-nor will all of the side effects be pleasant.

There are no new floors to explore, though there is a bouncy castle in the arena now. (Thanks, Harriet.) There is also the possibility that there may be more to find on these floors-or maybe they are just going on a wild goose chase. Or maybe there is something to find, though those who look for answers may not like what they find.

And what of the number of Strangers left? The Stewards have already allowed a murderer to get away with their crime scot free, and no one else has uncovered the culprit. Who knows what else the Stewards might have up their sleeves?

[thank you, Hydrangea. you're a good friend. with watery eyes, Osomatsu whines more at the hammer, but it's mostly soft blubbering and not disruptive.

[Hydrangea will continue nuzzling until Osomatsu calms down, at least. She can't actually heal it, but hopefully this makes it feel better anyways?]

[HE SNIFFLES, but then turns to give her a teary smile]

[Well, she's fine with comforting her friends, even when they act like babies sometimes. She even flaps up to kind of pat him on the head with one paw.]

[aww. Osomatsu sits up straighter and wipes at his eyes. his thumb no longer throbs. maybe Shaymin did the trick!

and, no, Osomatsu doesn't seem to care that he made a spectacle of himself]

...Maaaan. This is hard. [he's done with trying to fix things. so unhelpful. he almost tosses the hammer away, but thinks better of it]

[Yeah, don't create a horrible domino chain reaction by knocking over someone else's work. Franciscus finally glances over from the table he's working on, now that Hydrangea seems to have done well at comforting Osomatsu.]

Could you come help me hold this together, then? It's large enough your hands shouldn't be at risk-I mostly just need to make sure it's stable.

[oh... more work for him to do.

but it's Franciscus, and Osomatsu wants to at least help him. he pulls himself to his feet and walks over to him, holding on where Franciscus needs him to]

Hey, this looks pretty good.

Really, I'm surprised as well. I've never done this before. I suppose it might be because Hydrangea is here. [He pats her on the head as she glides over.] She's my little lucky charm.

[hehe. Osomatsu is glad for Franciscus]

Does she have all her powers with her? [or, her moves, he supposes]

It seems as if most of her abilities have also been restricted, other than transformation and flight. [He supposes it makes sense-she can make plants grow as well, and of course the stewards wouldn't want to make it that easy for them to get food.]

[he hums in thought, then looks back at what Franciscus seems to be building]

If you got her back, maybe you can get Gerard, too, huh? Maybe he'll be able to do more stuff.

Probably. Though I hope the stewards won't object to him sleeping outside the bedrooms. [Gerard can not fit.]

[but they fit two of them into the room!]

Well, whatever happens, I'll keep hoping that you're reunited soon!

[Gerard's body structure is more awkward, after all.] And I'm grateful for that hope. Now that I know Hydrangea is here, it's much easier to imagine Gerard being stuck somewhere as well... [He wonders if they're both just being kept in their Pokeballs for now. The Stewards don't seem like the type to take care of them one-on-one like the Sarge did.]

[is he done holding up these parts? can he stop now?]

Yeah, I'll bet he's fine, too, since animals are taken care of here. Maybe he's eating better than us.

[Yeah, Franciscus has nailed the basic framework in place by now.] I'm not sure...but I suppose that's a hopeful way to look at it. We know there's plenty of fish available, at least. [He got so many tunas out of that machine.]

[Osomatsu drops his hands, clapping off the dirt like he did a job well done. the only useful thing he's done today]

I wonder where it's all coming from, the fish.

Perhaps there's a moat outside these walls. Or for all we know, an entire ocean. [A pause] Probably not that. We'd still smell the salt, even if we can't see much through the windows.

There must be something out there, though, right? Maybe if we all made noise, someone would find us...

[silvertongueheir]

It's possible. Though we also don't know the situation out there. For all we know, noises coming from here might be a regular occurrence, or the common populace might not wish to be seen interfering in the affairs of this place. [It's a big castle/mansion, the owners can probably get away with a lot.]

[oh... he never thought of it that way. he nods, rubbing his hands together nervously]

Guess we'll just have t'wait and see. At the very least, we're not dealin' with angry townsfolk.

Yes, not having to endure those extra suspicions is certainly a relief. Though from what I saw, they did come around near the end, didn't they? [They tried to help the survivor group escape, after all...]

[there is a lot of stuff he can't remember, so he scratches his head]

Yeah, I guess. But I think it took a long time to get there.

That's also true. [Another sigh.] But at least here we have just the spiders and bats to coexist with. [Also maybe the rats? But apparently they're not considered part of the protected group.]

At least the bats are cute. Not so sure about spiders.
