THE FIRST VICTIM

[Friday morning is quiet enough.

Everything seems to be normal, as before. Normal and boring, even with the strange things happening around the Depths. After all, no one's killed yet. Why would they? Surely something as ridiculous as a weird fruit and a fleeting promise wouldn't provoke anyone to kill to see if something like that was actually true, right?

Right?

Still, if anyone was worried, they would at least feel justified at being tense. People were told to kill another in return for the safety and life of a loved one, after all. And it included a way out for someone who succeeded in getting away with it. There may be someone more than willing to kill for that chance.

And that's when you don't consider the two empty rooms, one of which was opened and resulted in more strange things happening. And what happened last week? It hasn't been solved, has it? And no one expected that.




Perhaps it's a thought to look around to make sure there's nothing off this morning.

Certainly, it couldn't hurt.]

[ After actually finding Laslow's dead body in here, he makes sure Futaba will at least be okay on her own before getting up to explore the room. He was in here a couple times earlier in the week, so is there anything immediately off that he'd be able to pick up on besides the body and the daggers all over the floor?

Surely something will stand out, right? ]

[Well, every single dagger in the armory was covering the body.

Though, that one was probably pretty obvious. Same with the burning smell. However, nothing else is obviously off at first glance.

Keep looking?]

[ He'll do just that. Starting from the corner of the room and seeing if anything else had been knocked over or really touched recently.

With the dim lighting it'll be hard to tell but it's not gonna stop him from trying to look anyway. ]

[Nothing else has been knocked over aside from the daggers, but speaking of the daggers, he may notice something different about two of the daggers that had been deep in the pile.]

[ Thankfully, he's been known to have quite good perception of things around him, so when he looks back toward the pile of daggers, it's the two that catch his eye.

Kneeling down, he moved closer so he could try and discern what made those two daggers stand out from the rest of them. ]

[Probably the biggest thing?

Both have blood on them.]

[ W e l l. How about that?

Carefully he'll grab them by their handles so he can inspect them closer, trying to discern the amount of blood on the blades. Trying to see if the amount is indicative to whether or not they both were used to stab or slice someone. Cause then he could maybe figure out which one might have been the one used to kill Laslow with it. ]

[The knife closest to the corpse is completely covered in blood, all the way to the hilt and even over it.

The other one, a little further away, has a small amount of blood on the blade in comparison.]

[ That didn't take long to figure out at all.

Clearly the one covered in blood had to have been the one used to kill Laslow and that would mean that the other likely just harmed the culprit. A grin formed on his face as he straightened up with the daggers, giving the room another quick look.

If there wasn't anything that looked too out of place, he was going to show this to the others. ]
