WEEK 1
[The train wouldn't stop. Not until very early the next morning. The few who might have been awake would be able to exit the train, entering the cool twilight of the dawn. The star is dark, and few stars can be seen in the sky as a cold breeze begins to blow from the mountain beyond. You can see some chunks of rock floating idly nearby, far away from the station that it won't hit trains, but near enough that one can see they are larger than the train they just disembarked.
Lastly, laid out in front of them, the first port of call: Menahoven. The mountain: The Throat of the World.
But which world? Who knows. Not any of yours. Maybe it doesn't matter. Not when you are so far from home. Not when you have no way to get off this rock without the aid of the trains-and they will not let you pass.
It looks like you're stuck here until the Conductor decides to leave. In the meantime, everyone will need to get comfortable.
There are fifteen strangers left in this place.]
Forge;
How else are you going to know it's good enough if you don't give it a try?
no subject
I'd like to. But I wasn't sure if we'd get in trouble if we did. Also ...
[ ... ]
Would you be able to get the sword off the wall for me?
no subject
[ Taking the Long Sword right off the wall. It's not too much of an effort for him so it'd nbd, really.
He'll hold it out to Mithos, even. He's such a good influence. ]
Here.
no subject
[ he's small and didn't want to risk hurting himself trying to get it but wow he agreed very quickly.
he grips the sword and gives it a few practice swings before frowning. ]
I wonder if there's something a little more balanced ...
[ this one is alright but not Right for him ]
no subject
How about switching with what I've got?
[ His might be a little too light, now that he thinks about it. ]
no subject
Hm? Alright, I'll give it a try. It seems a little on the heavy side, for me.
[ Mithos holds out the sword he's holding for McBurn to take. ]
no subject
And shazam, switcheroo has been done. He turns away from Mithos and gives a test swing because he does have some lick of sense. ]
...Could always be better, but I'd prefer this over what's in that train any day.
no subject
I've never used what's on the train before, so I'd have to agree. It's not perfect, but it's better than nothing.
[ but that's only if they can actually ... take these ]
no subject
[ Either way, he's not interested in using this sword in particular... ]
no subject
[ ... but thinking about that maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea since his Teacher isn't here ]
no subject
[ Yeah, he's just like this. ]
Sometime this week sound good?
no subject
I guess there is!
[ mithos ... ]
This week sounds good. Do you think whomever's forge this is would be alright with their weapons being borrowed?
[ Since while this sword isn't ideal it's not like there's many other choices around right now ]
no subject
[ Okay, actually, McBurn knows better here. But who cares, he wants a fight??? So he's getting one. ]
Thursday would be a good day for a fight. Meet me near the Gate around then, got it?
no subject
We could always return them after.
[ ..... maybe ]
Yes, will do. I look forward to it, ah--
[ He hasn't gotten your name yet one who wishes to fight him ]
this is not an excuse to drop his title at all
[ He's such a good influence. The paragon of all that is good in the universe and all that. ]
The name's McBurn. [ ... ] Some have called me the Almighty Conflagration.
[ But really, who calls him that? Though, he's kind of looking at Mithos somewhat expectantly...in a way someone who's mostly bored with his life looks at something or someone with little interest. It's something, at least. ]
wow mcburn please
[ because that certainly what it sounds like wow ]
The "Almighty Conflagration", hm? [ sounds like a name a certain companion would try to give himself ] How did you end up with a name like that.
[ well ... the way mcburn is looking at him is better than most looks he's gotten in the past so hey he'll take it? ]
no subject
It's a long story that I don't care to explain. It's better if I just show you sometime...if you know what I mean.
[ McBurn means in a fight. Because that is almost literally the only thing he thinks about. ]
no subject
Fair enough. If it's better to show then I'll wait until then.
[ McBurn is starting to remind him of someone else who seemed to only think about fighting ]
That name's Mithos. Mithos Yggdrasil.
no subject
Anyway, after he's gotten a name, he seems to turn around at least, preparing to leave. ]
...Got it. Since it's settled, see you later.
[ He'll turn on his heel and just walk right out of the forge. ]
