WEEK 1

WEEK 1

[The train wouldn't stop. Not until very early the next morning. The few who might have been awake would be able to exit the train, entering the cool twilight of the dawn. The star is dark, and few stars can be seen in the sky as a cold breeze begins to blow from the mountain beyond. You can see some chunks of rock floating idly nearby, far away from the station that it won't hit trains, but near enough that one can see they are larger than the train they just disembarked.

Lastly, laid out in front of them, the first port of call: Menahoven. The mountain: The Throat of the World.

But which world? Who knows. Not any of yours. Maybe it doesn't matter. Not when you are so far from home. Not when you have no way to get off this rock without the aid of the trains-and they will not let you pass.

It looks like you're stuck here until the Conductor decides to leave. In the meantime, everyone will need to get comfortable.

There are fifteen strangers left in this place.]

Ah, so the key is hard work and determination? That tracks with what I've heard from older Witches. Well, the ones who aren't cats. I assume the latter would have philosophical disagreements with you.
unwittingking: (Though hamburgers are good too)

Eh, every species is equal in the afterlife. After all, not like you get to choose you're species, right?

Plus, not like I can judge when I'm a canine that's barely scrapping two feet in height.

A very egalitarian judge of the dead. I'm glad to hear that.

To tell you the truth, I've seen stranger speaking beings than you, but most of them were demons, angels, or given life by magic.
unwittingking: (But with you...)

[personal profile] unwittingking 2019-07-17 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, I try.

Well, when I usually have to compare myself to other Gods, who get to control how tall they are at any time, I kinda start to notice it.

[He does not seem at all fazed by the mention of demons or angels, surprisingly.]
awitchdidit: (just as every cop is a criminal)

[personal profile] awitchdidit 2019-07-17 05:39 pm (UTC)(link)
You've been cursed into short stature, then? It's a good thing you're a cute breed.
unwittingking: (But with you...)

[personal profile] unwittingking 2019-07-17 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup. And it helps in convincing people I'm harmless, too.
awitchdidit: (just as every cop is a criminal)

[personal profile] awitchdidit 2019-07-17 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahaha, always valuable! Normally, I'm fond of transforming into butterflies for the same reason.

Nobody ever suspects the butterflies.
unwittingking: (I want to fix them)

[personal profile] unwittingking 2019-07-17 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Very true! Though may I also recommend ladybugs? They look just as harmless as butterflies, with the added bonus of not being related to any sort of horror movie monster.

[People do, however, suspect Moth Man and Mothra]
awitchdidit: (and all the sinners saints)

[personal profile] awitchdidit 2019-07-17 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm? Isn't Mothra always benevolent?

Or at least justified?

[Moth Man is kinda specific to the States. Even if she was going to ignore chronology for the sake of a reference again, Shin Megami Tensei Mothman has never done anything wrong in his entire life.]
unwittingking: (Huh?)

[personal profile] unwittingking 2019-07-17 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Is he? I haven't gotten the chance to see any of the movies. I just knew him as another giant monster that wrecked cities.

[Now he feels like he probably should, but won't get the chance to see any of those movies here.]

awitchdidit: (been around for a long long year)

[personal profile] awitchdidit 2019-07-17 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I think you'll find Japanese monster movies are surprisingly nuanced, once you sit down with them. She protects her people, or the planet, or whatever is being threatened at the time.

[Lepidopteran solidarity is apparently a thing. Or you've just come across a nerd from the 80's.]
unwittingking: (Huh?)

[personal profile] unwittingking 2019-07-17 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[It's a girl...oops]

Oh. Well, I guess I'll have to watch one of her movies, once we get out of here, since I'll probably have some time to.

Any recommendations on which?
awitchdidit: (just as every cop is a criminal)

[personal profile] awitchdidit 2019-07-17 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, well, I mostly watched whatever was on TV. Mothra, Mothra vs. Godzilla, and Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster are the classics, I believe.
unwittingking: (But with you...)

[personal profile] unwittingking 2019-07-17 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Alright. I'll check out all three of them when I get the chance.

[It'd be nice to see science as the reasoning behind giants for once.]

Don't suppose you've found anything interesting elsewhere?
awitchdidit: (allow me to introduce myself)

[personal profile] awitchdidit 2019-07-18 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
There's a talking cat, but after this conversation I'm not positive that's noteworthy.
unwittingking: (Though hamburgers are good too)

[personal profile] unwittingking 2019-07-18 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Eh, it could be, if they don't call this place Egypt and they're actually reasonable. But I feel like the chances of that are slim to none.
