WEEK 1

WEEK 1

[The train wouldn't stop. Not until very early the next morning. The few who might have been awake would be able to exit the train, entering the cool twilight of the dawn. The star is dark, and few stars can be seen in the sky as a cold breeze begins to blow from the mountain beyond. You can see some chunks of rock floating idly nearby, far away from the station that it won't hit trains, but near enough that one can see they are larger than the train they just disembarked.

Lastly, laid out in front of them, the first port of call: Menahoven. The mountain: The Throat of the World.

But which world? Who knows. Not any of yours. Maybe it doesn't matter. Not when you are so far from home. Not when you have no way to get off this rock without the aid of the trains-and they will not let you pass.

It looks like you're stuck here until the Conductor decides to leave. In the meantime, everyone will need to get comfortable.

There are fifteen strangers left in this place.]

Mm. Maybe. [ He can see that. ]

Even if they smell or ah ... taste the same, the ingredients themselves can make a difference to it's actual usefulness.
telecosmetic: (learning more about you)

[personal profile] telecosmetic 2019-07-20 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, probably...the book doesn't have any tips about that, though.
eternaldivide: (Default)

[personal profile] eternaldivide 2019-07-20 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
It's ... pretty indescribable, isn't it. Doesn't even show any procedures how to mix the ingredients. That could be dangerous depending on the ingredients you are handling.
telecosmetic: (oh...)

[personal profile] telecosmetic 2019-07-21 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah...I mixed the poison just to test what color it was so we would know what we might have to be careful of, but I tried to be really careful while holding the ingredients...and I had a healing potion with me. [If she doesn't ingest it it probably doesn't count as poison?]

[personal profile] eternaldivide 2019-07-21 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
What colour did the poison turn out to be?

[ probably a good idea to ask for ... future reference ]
telecosmetic: (lecture mode)

[personal profile] telecosmetic 2019-07-21 10:37 am (UTC)(link)
Green. So's the damaging potion.
eternaldivide: (ᴏᴄᴇᴀɴ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ꜰᴏʀᴇsᴛ)

[personal profile] eternaldivide 2019-07-21 11:09 am (UTC)(link)
Are both the cure type potions the same colour, as well?
telecosmetic: (explanation mode)

[personal profile] telecosmetic 2019-07-21 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, they're both red. I guess green and red are kind of opposites, so that's why? Oh, and the invisibility potion is just plain gray.
eternaldivide: (ᴄʀᴏssɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇ ᴡᴀᴠᴇs ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ sᴋʏ)

[personal profile] eternaldivide 2019-07-21 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmn. Yeah, I suppose that makes sense. Green is also what most people identify poison as.

[ he looks at the book again ]

I wonder about the slow and frenzy potions. Have you tried to make those yet?
telecosmetic: (hmm...)

[personal profile] telecosmetic 2019-07-21 06:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[It's supposed to be purple...oh well.]

Not yet...frenzy kind of worries me more, though. Wonder how long they last...
eternaldivide: (ɪꜰ ᴇᴠᴇɴ ᴀ ʀᴜsᴛᴇᴅ ᴅᴇᴄᴏᴍᴘᴏsɪɴɢ)

[personal profile] eternaldivide 2019-07-21 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[ shhh everything will be okay ]

Not sure .. maybe only a minute like the invisibility potion? I think what concerns me more is ... frenzy can imply multiple things happening to someone when it's taken.
telecosmetic: (staring)

[personal profile] telecosmetic 2019-07-22 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
It sounds a bit like being Enraged, but I can't be completely sure about that. Not without testing it on someone, and even if we had a volunteer I still wouldn't really wanna try...
eternaldivide: (ᴀɴᴅ ᴍᴏᴠᴇ ᴀʜᴇᴀᴅ)

[personal profile] eternaldivide 2019-07-22 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
Enraged or ... some kind of confusion. Either way ... I don't think it's something I'd be willing to risk testing on someone. The most I'd be willing is making them so we can see what their colours are.
telecosmetic: (hmm...)

[personal profile] telecosmetic 2019-07-22 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I guess that part is a good idea...maybe they'll be gray like the invisibility one? [It's the closest to a pattern she can find.]
eternaldivide: (ᴀɴᴅ ᴍᴏᴠᴇ ᴀʜᴇᴀᴅ)

[personal profile] eternaldivide 2019-07-23 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
Hm ... It's possible. If you consider them status effects like invisibility. It might be wise to assume such, if we don't make it to confirm.
telecosmetic: (hmm...)

[personal profile] telecosmetic 2019-07-23 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Well...I suppose the slow potion would be safe enough at least, as long as we don't test it alone.
eternaldivide: (ɪꜰ ᴇᴠᴇɴ ᴀ ʀᴜsᴛᴇᴅ ᴅᴇᴄᴏᴍᴘᴏsɪɴɢ)

[personal profile] eternaldivide 2019-07-23 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah ... Is it something that you'd be willing to test?
telecosmetic: (smile)

[personal profile] telecosmetic 2019-07-24 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
Sure. Would you mind watching out for me while I test it?
eternaldivide: (ᴄʀᴏssɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇ ᴡᴀᴠᴇs ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ sᴋʏ)

[personal profile] eternaldivide 2019-07-24 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, of course.
telecosmetic: (smile)

[personal profile] telecosmetic 2019-07-25 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
[She looks relieved as she starts mixing.] Alright, let's try this...

telecosmetic: (oh!)

[personal profile] telecosmetic 2019-07-25 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[What color is it, by the way?

Eliza lifts her hand, watching it rise in slow motion.]

Wow, this feels really weird...hey, my voice is still normal!
