WEEK 1
[The train wouldn't stop. Not until very early the next morning. The few who might have been awake would be able to exit the train, entering the cool twilight of the dawn. The star is dark, and few stars can be seen in the sky as a cold breeze begins to blow from the mountain beyond. You can see some chunks of rock floating idly nearby, far away from the station that it won't hit trains, but near enough that one can see they are larger than the train they just disembarked.
Lastly, laid out in front of them, the first port of call: Menahoven. The mountain: The Throat of the World.
But which world? Who knows. Not any of yours. Maybe it doesn't matter. Not when you are so far from home. Not when you have no way to get off this rock without the aid of the trains-and they will not let you pass.
It looks like you're stuck here until the Conductor decides to leave. In the meantime, everyone will need to get comfortable.
There are fifteen strangers left in this place.]

But also wow, hdu, calling him out like this?? ]
...I think I've explored enough. There's not much here that's worth my time.
no subject
Ehe. Well, I have little room to question you. I stayed on the train for the first couple days of this stop, so I have not had much room to look around, myself.
Have you found anything of even minor interest?
no subject
[ Either way he doesn't seem bothered by the teasing...though, he's not often on the receiving end of such things.
He considers her question.
McBurn thinks briefly back to the meeting where he discussed finding a courtroom...but eh. That wasn't too much interest to him. ]
Maybe that big Gate, but not much else. I'd ask you the same, but...you've made it clear that you've done as much as I have.
[ Yeah, he just turned the teasing vaguely back around at her, as he smirks slightly. ]
no subject
[She smiles a little at him pointing out the gate.]
You prefer chasing the unknown, then? My interest has been largely taken by the apothecary. I am... not unused to preparing medicines, so I suppose it feels a bit comfortingly familiar.
[...Hey, don't turn the teasing back on her, though!! She pouts, but it's a bit theatrical.]
Hmph. I see playing around, at least, is not too much of a pain for you.
no subject
[ Then again if he did and that freedom meant 'having powers', something might have been burned down by now!! ]
Nah, not really. It doesn't take much to do that, and sometimes the reactions are worth it.
[ Not quite on the level of fighting and such, but it's still a little entertaining from time to time. ]
no subject
...Ehehe. You and I are opposites, then. Would that I could give what the Conductor has granted me to you. I imagine it would be better used.
[Which is to say, she's scared of this.]
But I am glad, I admit. I think I would be a little upset if all I was to you was just "pain."
no subject
[ Just going to get that confirmed straight away... ]
Yeah, you're not annoying enough to be a pain in the ass.
[ So, yeah. Maybe that's a compliment?? Maybe? ]
no subject
If I cannot do that, then the freedom I have, however limited, is wasted, is it not?
[Her mouth quirks into a smile at that, though.]
I will work on maintaining that, then.
no subject
[ He's so used to being able to do what he wants, though, so he can't imagine having as less as Ris seems to imply she originally had.
Granted he can still do whatever, for the most part but...okay he really doesn't like that he doesn't have access to his powers and that's about the size of it. ]
It shouldn't be too hard. I can't say the same for anyone that's responsible for any of this.
no subject
Well, yes. That does seem to be the prevailing opinion, and I cannot say I disagree. Ehe, but then, if I ever do fall quite that far, I truly will have failed. I suppose there's some positives to bars set quite that low...
no subject
Yeah. Guess there is.
no subject
Well, then. Would you like to keep the blanket, for now, or should I take it back from whence it came?
no subject
...
McBurn will give a small yawn and slide an arm around the blanket. Is that answer enough? ]
no subject
Please, return it to the train when you are done, then. I should very much not like to be punished for... oh, how did they refer to thievery. Finger-smithing?
no subject
[ No sense in getting someone punished for helping him out... ]
