WEEK 2
[It is again early morning when the train docks next. This time, however, the dock is not as busy. There are few trains to be seen, and even fewer people. Only a man stands at the dock, teeth sharp in his smile, scelera a deep gold as he stares beneath his fedora.
"Unexpected," he said with a smile. A two-dimensional dog with the head of a scribbled black cloud hops by, ignoring him. "But not unwanted. Do make yourselves comfortable."
This new place is known as Victoria's Chasm, named after an Empress. No, not that one. Her Thrice-Renewed Majesty is quite comfortable on her Throne, and rulled for much longer than 99 days, thank you very much.
In the distance, black begins to erupt like tendrils. Lightning flashes through the clouds. This is the land of monsters; tread carefully. And do not despair, whatever you do.
There are fifteen strangers left in this place.]

Hoping to find something else out?
no subject
Mhm. It seemed to have .. been a place of some importance. There wasn't much there, but I did see a symbol.
no subject
[ Well. He has a vague interest in that, still, but at the same time... ]
Or that talk can be left for whenever someone decides to hold one of those meetings. [ ...Yeah. He has still mostly room for fighting in his head and it probably shows. ] It's a day earlier than last time we went, but how about we give it a go right now?
no subject
[ But now that McBurn brings it up-- ]
Alright. Do we want to give it a go here, or would you like to move elsewhere.
[ And he already has his sword on him so he doesn't even have to go back to the train to grab it ]
no subject
[ And of course, McBurn already has his sword on him, so he's going to be drawing it to full attention.
Isn't this a nice distraction? ]
Let's get this over with.
[ That's all the warning Mithos is going to get before he launches into an attack. ]
no subject
Yes what a good distraction. In fact Mithos seems to be going at it harder at it than their last sparring match. ]
no subject
[ He immediately picks up on that and has already turned up the heat accordingly. It seems Mithos has been learning well from their last fight. ]
no subject
[ He's never going to learn if McBurn is doing so, after all! He also looks like he picked up on a few things since their last spar as well. Turns out defending for so long last time helped him notice a few things. ]
no subject
That's not bad. At the very least it means it won't end as quickly as it had last time.
He only keeps up the pressure, swinging the blade, and making sure his strikes are hard as well as fast. If anything, he'll be smirking when the other meets them or otherwise. ]
no subject
And Mithos keeps taking the pressure and does his best to deliver his own. He can't match McBurn's power given his own physical strength, so he's combating with doing what he can to lessen the blow while fighting back at the same time.
No switching to defensive measures yet, at any rate. It doesn't seem like he has the intentions on doing so, either ]
no subject
He'll start to switch things up a little though, including feints and such. ]
Already lasting longer; let's see if you can keep that up.
no subject
The feints nearly catch Mithos off guard. In fact the first one nearly end the match. But Mithos is determined to have this last as long as possible, and remembers what he has been taught about reading feints. He doesn't attempt any of his own but .... maybe next time. He's still learning how to really fight without wanting to use magic for back-up (since he ... can't do that). ]
I plan on it!
no subject
[ Because swinging swords in the air all the time or at all is boring as hell to him. But hey, whatever works is clearly good enough, right? ]
