WEEK 2

[The unfortunate death, and subsequent execution, has no doubt weighed on everyone's minds since. The dam has burst, and now, the idea that someone may kill another in this place is not just a possibility anymore. It is reality, and a very terrifying reality at that.

Yet, there is a strange side effect to the murder's aftermath. When the Titled go to sleep on Saturday evening, they will dream, even if they don't normally do so. When they wake up, their dream stays with them, and a thought comes to everyone. A realization.

Their dream had been a memory they lost. Now, they have it back, as if they had never lost it.

Nor is that the only change. They also feel just a little more confident in their power. Confident enough that they find that their ability has evolved to become stronger. Whether that's a good or a bad thing, well...

Soon enough, too, the Titled's phones start pinging, and when they open up their LIME app, they receive a simple message:]

Your Mall Map has been updated!

[And indeed, those who go to check the Food Court will find an elevator on the eastern end which leads to a brand new wing that had previously been obscured by the barrier.

Dio and Wake's information is also slightly different from before on the LIME app, but...maybe it's best not to think about it. Last week had been...disheartening.

Hopefully, this week will be better, right? Surely, this week, temptation won't win out again....right?

Well.

There's only one way to find out.

Welcome to Week 2, Titled.

There are thirteen strangers in this place.

This week's crab is Dungeness.]

they're going to see us passing all these notes around and figure out a way to stop us doing it. for now, though...

[Joey's handwriting is loopy and girly and probably didn't get her any extra points at school, but it's pretty fast.]

i had a chat with LC. it seems like she genuinely believes what her bosses are doing is for a good cause? maybe even some kind of benefit to us? she talked about how even her previous job was 'guiding people who were probably gonna stop existing', and that this game is a lot more likely to have survivors than her old one.

anyone have any idea what the heck?
foolishjustice: (Strange isn't it?)

'I plan to claim this is for Sanzashi-san's benefit. It really must be easier for him than trying to keep up with a group conversation

I can't imagine what good might come out of this. Given everything I've seen so far, I wouldn't dismiss the idea that she might be some form of psychopomp, but it would raise the question of what she has to do with us.'

[She's never been more glad to be an Andrew Hussie character than now and every single vocabulary test in school.]

psychopomp? you mean like a grim reaper? that sounds like a problem. and really out of character.
foolishjustice: (Strange isn't it?)

'Yes, a guide for the dead. What makes you think it's out of character?'
incrediblystressedout: (behold the worst cracker)

[personal profile] incrediblystressedout 2017-12-09 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
well, i just...expect a big, scary skeleton guy with a scythe. not someone i could be classmates with if my classmates had taste and something resembling empathy.
foolishjustice: (May I help you?)

'That is the modern image. Various other cultures throughout history have had different interpretations, though. Hermes from Greek mythology had the job of escorting souls to the underworld, though the ferryman Charon is what people usually think of when they imagine the Greek guide of the dead. If they don't think that was the job of Hades himself.'
incrediblystressedout: (where the heck does it want me to click?)

[personal profile] incrediblystressedout 2017-12-09 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
and so for our culture here we have a pop-dancing mirror girl.
byanyother_name: (There is ONE thing...)

'...Ah... The 'grim reaper' I'm most familiar with is a girl with blue hair and a quite cheerful disposition who's fond of saying 'Bingo!'

So it really does depend.'

anyway...so what does that mean for us? they hired an expert on the imminently deceased to help us through the process of murdering each other?
