WEEK 3

[As Marie said: so much for trust and resolve. Two people are dead, and there is very little anyone can do about it now, no matter how much they would have wanted to sacrifice themselves.

In particular, with Marie's words during the trial, it's clear that time is limited. Or is it? Marie is also capable of omitting the truth when it serves her needs, especially when it comes towards the Strangers and their still-missing memories. In any case, one can only hope they don't fall for her tricks again, even though getting away with murder would - apparently - save at least one life.

There is something else, as well. When everyone wakes up the morning, they will find that information on their wristwatches has been updated to reflect their new number - and something new about their powers. Not only that, but a new floor has opened up above Floor 1 for everyone to explore. Maybe more can be found on just what, exactly, is going on.

Is Marie telling the truth? Is the universe really ending? Or is it just another means of getting what she wants? Whatever is happening, people will need to be more careful around her - and one another. Who knows what Marie will offer next - or what your roommate or new friend is now capable of as a result. Especially since it's now known, thanks to Marie's actions during the trial, that everyone has definitely lost some memories. And unfortunately, no one seems to have regained any of them so far - or if anyone has, they haven't said a word.

If trust and resolve was ever needed, it feels like now is the time to try and find all that.

[And thus, he is lasered in the face and knocked out.

When he wakes up, he's found himself deposited in front of the entrance to the room, with a splooping sound underneath his body. Hm.]

[....That's worrying. So the alive-ness of the building isn't limited to the trial room.

Nevertheless, he gets to his feet, studies the lasers a bit longer....then expertly weaves through with seemingly no effort at all.]

[ Baku is also here, and he'll take note for, like, a second before he reaches the end and is fucking blinded for a little bit. Welp. ]

In fewer words, this is some straight up Matrixy nonsense he's pulling off and it is beautiful.]

[We just continue this aerial parkour dance through the lasers and end by gracefully landing on toes like a cat, maybe with a small pirouette to regain balance.

Baku, you still blind over there, or did you witness this stunning display of physical ability?

When Nagisa and Baku open the box, they find this clearly unimportant item.]

It wasn't anything that special... I'm not a movement specialist or anything.

[....So what, a piece of paper with a drawing on it? Anything else? Any signatures or anything? Is it a print or the original? Is it clear what was used to draw it (pencil, crayon, space goo...)?]

[It's a photograph, actually. A very high-quality photograph, on very high-quality, stiff, textured photograph paper.]

[Does the face of the woman in the picture resemble Marie's?]

[strangerpeople]

[No.. This face is much kinder, for one. For another, the eyes are completely different. More specifically, pupils in her eyes seem to have a gentle, machine-like green glow within them.]

I don't see the point in this. It's a poor prize for what we did. Although I suppose it was guarded for a reason.

There must be some purpose.... She may not be human. [Those eyes. But she's.... What about like, a family resemblance? Obviously the woman in the photo isn't Marie, but does she look similar at all?] I have some ideas for my next step now, at least.

[It’s not even remotely close to Marie when it comes to appearance. If it is a relative, it’s not a blood relative.]

[Guess we're taking this to the library then. See if we can find any historical references for her clothing or anything.]
