WEEK 1
[Awaken.
Fifteen strangers have been gathered to the Depths.
When the strangers awaken, they will feel nauseous in their stomachs. No doubt confused. Maybe a little sick, Perhaps, even terrified. And certainly, there is a good reason for it - they are not where they were before. If they had powers back where they came from, they seem to be all gone. And it appears that someone has left...guidelines for them. All of them addressed to a specific Title.
Their Title. Somehow, each person knows, upon seeing this, this is their Title, even if it seems to make no sense whatsoever. And its clear that whoever wrote these things knew it as well. Who was it?
Its uncertain. So far, there seems to be no one else save for them, and those who dare to venture out of their rooms - save, for some reason, the individuals in rooms 1, 8 and 7 - in this hot and stuffy place. No...'intercessor' to be seen yet, certainly. No outward signs that there's anyone else aside from the people with 'Titles'.
So, Titled: welcome.
There are fifteen strangers in this place.]
TUESDAY
EVENING
This sensation seems to coalesce strongest when nearing the study. Indeed, those who venture to find the source of this strange feeling will find themselves drawn there, where they will find what they are looking for. Whether or not they like what they find is another story.
It's a very large figure, cloaked in black. There is no way to tell its age, its gender, or even a clear view of what it's really wearing. All that is clear are the two bright pinpricks beneath their cloak, indicating its eyes, as it sits, serenely, quietly. Powerfully.
Casually drinking a bottle of beer from the kitchen as it sits on the couch with legs crossed, looking over their own letter. How the drink is getting into their mouth is really a mystery.]
Hm.
[They slowly stand, their figure massive and imposing, still holding the letter and drink in their hand. It appears they weren't quite expecting to find people congregating around them so quickly.
Since you have, of course, there's no point delaying the inevitable.]
You must be the Titled.
I trust you are aware that you are not where you were before. That you are trapped here, in perpetuity - and of what you are expected to do to return from whence you came. Though, if you have questions, I will do my best to answer what I can.
[They don't seem delighted, or angry, or anything. If anything, they're tone is even. And, while they don't seem hostile, its clear beneath the cloak that they are watching everyone.]
As for myself...I am the Intercessor.
[So...now what?]
no subject
[So it really isn't Zero? It seems a bit weird to change his look. Even though this one is more... darkness?? Gloom?? Honestly, he looks scary, though less so when he's bumming around on a couch. He sees that he has a letter like the one he remembers spotting in his room though, so maybe he's not in charge.]
Who the hell sent you? And what did they do with Mira and the others? Why'd you kidnap a bunch of strangers?!
no subject
Holding a beer.]
I was not involved in bringing you here, Glister. I am merely here as an intermediary for those in charge, and little more than that.
I know nothing of these others you speak of, and it is ultimately not my concern.
no subject
My name is Eric. [Don't call him that!]
Well then why don't you make it your concern, if you're supposed to talk to those bosses of yours for us.

After listening to Eric's accusations, he has some things of his own to ask.
"I have some questions for you, if you don't mind." He keeps his voice calm and even, though he feels anything but at the moment. "Firstly, for what purpose did your superiors wish us to be brought here? Specifically, why are they interested in having us murder one another?"
no subject
[Slurp]
You are here because of the nature of your Titles, as those who oversee this place deemed it important you be kept here. As to why they wish you to murder, it it their prerogative to decide how you are able to leave. If at all.
No doubt you must find this harsh.

[Hey, they are very important questions. But otherwise his tone sounds bored.]

...While I concede it is comfortable, it is because those that brought you here have simply forbidden it. And to do so would bring...punishment.
...
Your real powers, Question?

A touch of annoyance was clear on his face right then and it took a second to not just snap out in anger despite his instincts screaming at him to. ]
Intercessor, huh?
[ Canting his head to the side, it's clear his natural itch to attack is there and very prevalent. ]
I just want to ask you something. I know you or the ones who brought us all here, tampered with my body somehow. Why? Does it have to do with being trapped here or those odd titles were given to us?
no subject
I was given the impression that the power that your Titles gave you belonged to you to begin with.

And so, the amount of "do not want" in her expression was almost comical. With a deadpan stare, this 'child' was looking up at the one calling themselves the Intercessor, frowning. She didn't even bother with the child-act at all around this one. Something told her that even if she had, the facade wouldn't work. ]
And why should I believe that any of your answers would be the truth?
[ She is so done already. ]
no subject
...
No, seriously, the Intercessor seems surprised to see you here, kiddie. Still, they draw themselves up and try to speak...well. Reassuringly?
They know it's probably not working.]
I fear you have no other choice but to believe me.
[Please don't burst into tears, little girl.]

(Who was it that pulled him from the wreck of Beleriand-that-was as it drowned beneath the waves? Not him. He had wanted to die. Someone cared for him, in those long years of madness and regret. Of course, some might call that a punishment too, of sorts.)
He knows what they sound like, how they cloak themselves to deal with those of flesh, the breath that is not breath as they speak, the rumble of power in every word and thought and deed.
He looks at the Intercessor long and long, and then he bows. Deep and formal, he gives obeisance as he would to no mortal, as his father would rail to see. ]
My punishment I will accept, for am I not Accursed? But you bring children here. Is there no escape for them?
[ He does not hope for a positive answer. This is no one he knows. But he has to ask.
Already so much blood on my hands
Besides. Angband's reek is not here - whoever this is, it is neither Morgoth nor Sauron. ]
no subject
It wasn't I who brought them here. But you are correct, Hunter.
There is only one true means of escape for them, outside of death.

NO, NO, NO!! THIS ISN'T RIGHT AT ALL!! YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO GET ANYONE KILLED WITH YOUR PUZZLE!!
WHAT KIND OF MONSTER ARE YOU!?
[What's denial? He's not in denial, nope. That would confirm that this is totally not sans' doing and that he can't just fix it like he promised the humans he talked to!!]

I do have a question, thanks for asking. Does it count as getting away with killing someone if there's nobody left around to put you on trial?
no subject
I...
...
I was not expecting that to be a question I would be answering.
[A hand to where their temple is.]
I suppose, technically, you could murder everyone here, Deciever, as far as I know. Though whether that is a good idea or not...
