WEEK 4

[To say that the mood of the remaining Strangers is...low...is an understatement. The revelations about Eric, and the death of the innocent Zelda, no doubt weighs on everyone's minds, now. It's a terrible blow, and deep down, those who are left probably know it.

That won't be the only thing come morning, however. When everyone wakes up, they will find that their memories have changed once more, as have the rules. More than that, a new floor has opened up-and something is wrong.

Of course something is wrong. Everything is wrong. Everything and everyone is wrong. Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong. What can you do? Is there anything that can be done? And-will vengeance be taken for Zelda? Eric is now a free kill, after all. Then again, what's to stop Eric from killing again? He's no longer bound to the rules of the murder, after all...

Is there any hope left? Or is it only a matter of time before everyone well and truly snaps?

She will notice, as she pockets the note, another paper beneath it.]

[Well, that probably counts as particularly horrible. She'll take it. So, hey, another paper, let's go check that out.

Does this paper have runes mankind was never meant to see? More heandwriting? A lolcat from ye olden times?]

[It's a drawing of a machine, in rune texts and in the Elder Steward's handwriting.

According to its intended properties, it would, if finished, be capable of brainwashing.

As to what it would look like in real life, well.

There is a small prototype paperweight sitting on the desk.]

[...HM. BAD.

She's just going to scoop up all of these things, then.

Is there anything else on the desk worth looking at? If no, is there any paper she can swipe as well?]

[There is paper she can swipe.

There is also one more thing of note-strange flasks of water on the top of the table.]

[All right, well, that's hers. She folds that up and adds it to her growing note collection.

About that water. Does it just appear like normal water, for all intents and purposes? Or is there anything she'd be able to sense without touching it?]

[It looks like normal water, but for Emma, there is something off about its composition, though she cannot figure out exactly why.]

[hexposition]

[...Hm.

She doesn't like the feeling of this, but she's already holding the paperweight prototype. She'll have to come back up later and see if she can't grab a sample of that water. For now, she just notes its existence and leaves it at that.

[Then she's heading back downstairs for now! And promptly hiding all of this under her bed.]
