WEEK 4

WEEK 4

[To say that the mood of the remaining Strangers is...low...is an understatement. The revelations about Eric, and the death of the innocent Zelda, no doubt weighs on everyone's minds, now. It's a terrible blow, and deep down, those who are left probably know it.

That won't be the only thing come morning, however. When everyone wakes up, they will find that their memories have changed once more, as have the rules. More than that, a new floor has opened up-and something is wrong.

Of course something is wrong. Everything is wrong. Everything and everyone is wrong. Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong. What can you do? Is there anything that can be done? And-will vengeance be taken for Zelda? Eric is now a free kill, after all. Then again, what's to stop Eric from killing again? He's no longer bound to the rules of the murder, after all...

Is there any hope left? Or is it only a matter of time before everyone well and truly snaps?

There are ten strangers left in this place.]

I don't think you should. They could see me looking in the crystal ball and looked right at me before breaking it. I wouldn't want something to happen to you.

I guess it is too risky, even if I try to look at the past... especially if- if the past really can be changed.

[personal profile] notadinosnack 2019-05-16 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
At least until we can try other avenues. Some risks aren't worth it if there are other options and we need as many of us alive and in one piece as possible.

[And Thanatos genuinely likes Arthur and doesn't want the poor boy to get hurt. He needs to get home so he can have many more years to have adventures and stories to tell.]

Then.... I guess the only other thing I can add to this meeting is uh...

Has anyone else noticed their memories being kinda screwy?
notadinosnack: (004)

[personal profile] notadinosnack 2019-05-16 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
You mean changes and things outright not making sense any more? If so yeah.

[personal profile] incendiarize 2019-05-16 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, like.... I thought Visil was a good guy. But now I remember he....he wasn't. He really, really wasn't. Or he just wasn't fighting as hard as I thought, or...

It's kind of a mess. And I thought it didn't matter anymore, but... I'm all confused. [Morally, that is. But this is getting into Depressing Home Canon turf.]

For me it's a matter of thinking I barely tolerated the others. But it turns out that I trusted them completely because they'd helped Ricotta when I couldn't. Yet I can't recall who among us died. It makes no sense to be unable to remember people I thought of as being like a family to Ricotta and I.

It's... I've done some bad stuff. And my memories of why got all messed up.
notadinosnack: (004)

[personal profile] notadinosnack 2019-05-16 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
Definitely can't see you being the sort to do something bad without a good reason. You're a good kid and nothing is going to convince me otherwise.

....hey, do you think it's wrong for a being to want to live, even if it's existence alone is harmful to everything else?

Or that it's wrong to sacrifice the few to save the many?

[His Canon is one big trolley problem.]

[Wow, Arthur really is asking the wrong person that question after what Thanatos saw earlier. Still, he's gotten some alcohol in him at least and is a bit calmer than he was earlier.]

It's natural for any living creature to fight to survive. I've faced many times where I had a choice of possibly die by trying to get out of the situation or definitely die by doing nothing. I always chose the possibly die by trying to get out and am still here.

As for your second question, I would think keeping as many alive as you can would be the most desirable. But if you asked me to sacrifice Ricotta to save many more, I'd probably refuse.

...that's not unheard of. If you scry on a powerful enough being, there's every chance they'll become aware of it and turn their ire on you in return.

To the point that they can break something from afar? I mean, I've seen some weird stuff, but nothing like that.

Gods. Demon princes. Archmages with nothing on their minds but the blind lust for power.

I could go on.

I think I'd prefer the Primordials at this rate.

...unfortunately, I'm afraid elementals are also among the ones capable of this.

Oh, I wasn't speaking of those. Just some really nasty beasts that you can't kill without orichalcum weapons.
necroyalty: (sticks and stones)

I hate to trouble you for more details, but that could be nearly anything.

Giant, scaled, extremely aggressive. Mostly reptillian with some avian and aquatic varieties.

...dragons? Wait, no, those can be reasoned with well enough, and you'd likely have just said they were-

Wait.

Dinosaurs.

[Yes, despite the medieval aesthetic, she knows what a damn dinosaur is.]

That's the third time I've heard that term. The avian types are referred to as pterosaurs, but I've never heard that term before. Fact is, they aren't even supposed to exist.
