Week 2
[
and it's clear that Zero
is a big dickzzzzzsht
A week has passed. However, there is no denying anymore that the power Zero possesses is very real. One person is already dead because of this, regardless of what, exactly, the Gimme's role in it was.
There is also no denying that the ship is somehow powered by blood, if not made of blood entirely. Why? How? And what do the clues uncovered in the previous week have to do with it?
The watches, meanwhile have not changed in any way. Everyone is still in their color groups. The doors to the next floor are still locked as well. Perhaps those are also murder dependent. Which is...also not good. But at least there's food and laundry down here, so...maybe it'll get boring eventually, but for now, infinite confinement on the bottom decks of the ship may not be so bad. right?
...Right?
There are currently 18 strangers on this ship.]
MOTIVE: The Price of Life
Then, at noon, the televisions come to life in a flurry of static. Those who are in rooms without televisions find themselves staring at tubes schllllorrrrping out of the walls as Zero's mask pops into view.
Even from here, one can feel the utter bemusement. Can hear it in their voice as they speak.]
What is the price of a life? Some would say the value of a life is far too esoteric to measure. Others will tell you that a millions lives are a mere statistic, nothing more. Still others might say that the value of the life itself is irrelevant regardless-it is all about what you get out of it that counts.
Fifty dollars. A ticket to the theme park of your choice. A cheeseburger. All three put together...that is the current offer, good until the end of the week. Kill one of your fellow passengers, get away with it, and the price offered is yours, along with the X-Passes needed to return home to enjoy the...fruits of your labor, so to speak.
Ridiculous, I hear you say. Utterly insulting. Grasping for straws. Surely that is not the limit of Zero's power to compel us to bloodshed!
But I must wonder. Is that really true? People have killed for less, after all.
The choice is yours. Remember-you have until the end of the week.

[Hermes turns to the person nearest to him.]
What's a dollar?

Yeah, probably. I can't even eat anything. I'm an AI.

I mean I'd like to go on a theme park as that would probably be a fun time, but I don't really think I'd want a hamburger or such a low amount of money.
[Maybe if the reward was a lot more substantial...]

These things over a life?!"

When the tvs come on he pauses to watch, laughs slightly like he's reading an issue of Sensible Chuckle, and goes right back to what he was doing]

She happily takes sandwich and tea with a grateful smile and nibbles like a bunny.]

A cheeseburger? What is this, the setup for an "order in the court" gag?]

[like...this is a joke, right? it's not...it can't really be serious...right????]

So...the motive. Ritsu tilts her head, almost but not quite chuckling.]
Not very professional, is it?
[Still, she has...a lot of other thoughts to sort through. Her expression falls, eyes to the floor, after a few moments.]
no subject
Is this serious? That's pathetic incentive, even if someone here just needs an excuse that isn't a threat. [A slight pause.] Are they expecting someone will forget that getting caught means an execution?
no subject
Holy shit, Zero, that's so goddamn brazen he can't help but admire it, in a way.]

[He's 99% sure there's more to it than just that, though. Just what it is remains to be seen...]
