THE THIRD TRIAL
(~SK. 17-18)
[When the investigation ends, the D O N G rings throughout the ship, followed by Zero's voice.]
It is time. Everyone, come to the theater. Time is...wasting.
[And so it is. The seating has once more changed to reflect the fallen-Moriarty and now Brain's podiums are draped in black. And, of course, there is no food-
The screens come up, and the mask of Zero appears, ever inscrutable. Their instructions are brief.]
Your Brain is gone, I'm afraid. Cut into pieces and cast aside...and someone here knows why. Now, it's time for you to discover the truth as well...if you can.

Please do not make me bring out the list.
[does that mean he has it on him??? Nevermind]
We seem to have gone over all the available evidence. Would anyone like to propose a timeline?

There are two things I don't understand at all. Hermes falling asleep, and the actions taken with the several pieces of paper.

I too am still confused by the book at the cutpaper note. The book being from the lounge could mean it was made after Brain was killed and they simply used what was available?

[Hermes scratches at one of his front legs.]
But I am trying this trial...

What's wrong with your leg? Does it hurt?

[He forces himself to stop scratching at it. Poker face!]
My legs are all fine!

Speaking of the list, should we do a shoe check? It doesn't seem like there's very much that could have been tracked around for this case.
