WEEK 1
[The train wouldn't stop. Not until very early the next morning. The few who might have been awake would be able to exit the train, entering the cool twilight of the dawn. The star is dark, and few stars can be seen in the sky as a cold breeze begins to blow from the mountain beyond. You can see some chunks of rock floating idly nearby, far away from the station that it won't hit trains, but near enough that one can see they are larger than the train they just disembarked.
Lastly, laid out in front of them, the first port of call: Menahoven. The mountain: The Throat of the World.
But which world? Who knows. Not any of yours. Maybe it doesn't matter. Not when you are so far from home. Not when you have no way to get off this rock without the aid of the trains-and they will not let you pass.
It looks like you're stuck here until the Conductor decides to leave. In the meantime, everyone will need to get comfortable.
There are fifteen strangers left in this place.]

He's next visible at the Gate, with a few swords nearby him. One is a sword fit for a hero of legend, and is one of the ones he's giving a look at. He's evidently waiting for someone as well, though no one can probably guess that at first glance...
Then towards the latter part of the day, he's in the library, seated in a chair...eyes closed. It looks like he's fallen asleep. ]
Gate!
--Oh. That.. That sword...
no subject
He gives it a test swing. ]
Not bad, is it?
no subject
[ in fact looking at it more he's pretty sure it is his sword ]
no subject
Are you sure it isn't yours?
no subject
Yeah, it must be. Um ... You don't mind?
[ It might be his sword but he still.... has to ask for permission for it ok ]
no subject
[ Still holding it out to Mithos, but it's clear for him to just take it. ]
no subject
[ with that he'll take it from McBurn. He then take a few steps back and turn so he can give it a few test swings. Satisfied he smiles. Yeah, this is definitely his sword. It's perfect. ]
Thank you. Did you find a sword to your liking?
[ That wasn't his sword anyways ]
no subject
Yeah, I did.
[ ...
He steps back from Mithos and point the sword at him. ]
Let's get this over with already.
no subject
And guess who was being humble this half-elf and it shows as they spar because what is actually writing spar or fight scenes. McBurn overall is the better swordsman most likely, but Mithos is no push over. ]

Not that the tourist trap pablum is really interesting or helpful, and it's impossible to be distracted by it when there's guilt gnawing at her at the sight of a certain pastel peacock of a man seemingly sleeping nearby.]
If you're awake, I... I think I owe you an apology.
[She'd have been able to tell, before here. It's that which pushes her voice into an uncomfortable whisper, barely audible since she said it far more to the bookshelf.]
no subject
[ He's not completely asleep, apparently.
His eyes open and fix on the other nearby him. He can't exactly remember the last time anyone's apologized to him. ]
What's the apology for?
no subject
[She's still talking at the bookshelf, but louder, more clearly.]
Towa explained... not all that much, really, but enough that I think I've been needlessly hostile.
no subject
...
Well, it's not like he really cares about what anyone thinks about him. ]
If there wasn't any hostility in my life, I'd say it'd be pretty boring.
no subject
So... what, you'd rather I didn't admit I was wrong?
no subject
Eh, not what I said.
[ ... ]
Just saying it wasn't a big deal.

She watches him for a moment, as if considering what to do, then heads back toward the train.
When she returns, it's with a light blanket in her arms. If he's still sleeping in the chair by the time she returns, she'll unfold it and drape it around his shoulders.]
no subject
He seems to not open his eyes, but... ]
You do this often?
[ It was probably a bother and waste of time, though he's not going to complain. ]
no subject
...Yes, actually.
Master has a habit of working himself to exhaustion. It is common to find him at his desk having fallen asleep. It is safer to simply add comfort than to try to move him, I have found.
no subject
Oh yeah?
That guy doesn't have much excitement in his life, does he?
no subject
[But judging from the laughter, she agrees.]
Although, it would seem to me that perhaps the pot should not be calling the kettle black? We have been given all this to explore, and here you are, napping in a library.
no subject
But also wow, hdu, calling him out like this?? ]
...I think I've explored enough. There's not much here that's worth my time.
no subject
Ehe. Well, I have little room to question you. I stayed on the train for the first couple days of this stop, so I have not had much room to look around, myself.
Have you found anything of even minor interest?
no subject
[ Either way he doesn't seem bothered by the teasing...though, he's not often on the receiving end of such things.
He considers her question.
McBurn thinks briefly back to the meeting where he discussed finding a courtroom...but eh. That wasn't too much interest to him. ]
Maybe that big Gate, but not much else. I'd ask you the same, but...you've made it clear that you've done as much as I have.
[ Yeah, he just turned the teasing vaguely back around at her, as he smirks slightly. ]
no subject
[She smiles a little at him pointing out the gate.]
You prefer chasing the unknown, then? My interest has been largely taken by the apothecary. I am... not unused to preparing medicines, so I suppose it feels a bit comfortingly familiar.
[...Hey, don't turn the teasing back on her, though!! She pouts, but it's a bit theatrical.]
Hmph. I see playing around, at least, is not too much of a pain for you.
