[Friday morning dawns. It's a surprisingly brisk day; the winds are cold outside, and the sky is dark with its lack of sky. Well, a normal sky that one would be used to, at least.

The rats can be heard scurrying to and forth, in the walls. All seems to be as normal as it can be, this morning.]

[It's only a matter of time before, eventually, the cuffs on everyone's wrists suddenly beep to life. As this happens, the Conductor's voice comes onto the intercom system.]

Well. It appears one of you has decided to try and take Her Thrice-Renewed Majesty on her generous offer. I of course do not blame you. It is a very good offer.

Your cuffs have been programmed so any evidence you happen to find will automatically be recorded to everyone, not just yourself. I shall give you the basics, of course, but the rest is up to you to find on your own. Do not worry-the crew knows not to touch or taint anything with regards to the crime scene. We are fair, after all.

You have one hour to investigate. After that, we shall meet at the locked gate behind the house. I suggest you begin.


[With that, a clock appears on everyone's wrist to remind them of the time, along with a basic, almost laconic chart concerning details of Proto's death. There is also a ticking sound in their mind that they will be unable to ignore or tune out until the end of the hour.

[Beatrice awakens in her room. She's distinctly aware of the time limit the Conductor had announced, and slips one of her Stakes into an accessible location as she dresses, along with putting on her ring.]

[Those two precautions taken, however, she heads from the Apartment Car to the Dining Car almost immediately. If there is going to be a problem today, she's not about to face it on an empty stomach.]

[Eliza's felt fairly safe with Zack at her side throughout the night. Even so, she's going to go shake his shoulder to wake him up, before slipping some knives into her pockets and heading for the shower to freshen up.]
